Good Morning, Everyone,

Edward and I thank you all so much for visiting Stu's remembrance condo yesterday. We were very moved to read your kind words and thoughts on that poignant day.

We were out at a dessert party last night for some friends who have a seasonal residence here and who are headed back to their retirement community in Florida. Poor Rusty must have thought he was abandoned, because we hardly ever go out after dinner. He was so overjoyed to see us when we got home.

Yesterday's cycles continued the same weird pattern that has been common of late: AMPS was the lowest number of the cycle, then a gradual climb to PMPS, and a drop at PMPS +4. Today seems to be starting in a similar manner. I really don't know what to make of this. I don't think I have given any fur shots during the last few days. I will hold the new 1.5-unit dose for the time being, but I can't help thinking that maybe Rusty's dose is too high and that this is affecting the Levemir cycle. Can anyone shed light on this?

It is a dark, rainy day and we all felt like going btb, but only Edward and Rusty did!!! Maybe I will too! Back later.

We send healing thoughts, prayers, and special healing vines to Boris and Fiona today, and we are keeping all kitties who are not feeling well in our thoughts.

Re: 9/29 Rusty AMPS 153

Hi guys .. boy I wish I knew the answer to your question about too high of a dose .. I know more experienced people will be here soon though .. Isn't it funny how our kitties can panic when our routines are off? Our girls do the same thing when we go out at night, they greet us at the door as if they thought they would never see us again .. I won't be here tomorrow, so have a great weekend!

Re: 9/29 Rusty AMPS 153

Nice start this morning Ella and maybe Rusty is just to a point where is need for insulin is greater now confused_cat confused_cat I am certainly no dose expert and ECID but I do think you have a constant variable with a Diabetic patient to me they are always changing and why many can return from the falls.... and just was starting at his SS it has not been that long since his dental and to me the cats BG's can really vary for almost a month after this just another thought...

Re: 9/29 Rusty AMPS 153

I sure hope you figure out what's causing his cycle to act differently. Champ's cycle is doing strange things, too, and I know how frustrating it is when you expect one thing to happen and something totally different does. It can mess up your plans for the day (or night)!

Hope today is a great one for you and yours!!!!

Re: 9/29 Rusty AMPS 153, +5.5 75(!)

Wow, I guess Rusty answered my question by presenting 75 at +5.5! We'll be watching him closely this afternoon. Have to go out for a couple of hours at +7, but should be back by +9.

Thanks for the input, guys!

YEEHAAAW!!!!! Rusty is back in green

Looks like he just needed some time to settle into his new dose? Keep up the good work Rusty and have a great day with your beans.

Re: 9/29 Rusty AMPS 153, +5.5 75, +7 68

 Yay Rusty!! Atta boy!

Glad he did this on a day you didn't have a paddle scheduled! A dark rainy day is a perfect day for btb cuddles and a pokefest.

Have a wonderful day Ella!

      Wow! Rusty is back where he belongs! I hope you get the dose figured out. I too wonder how to tell if a dose is too high, maybe a PM to Libby or Jill?

Re: 9/29 Rusty AMPS 153, +5.5 75, +7 68, +9 72, PMPS 85

Lookit these green numbers!! It seems as if Rusty decided to break through the logjam. I won't hold my breath, but it certainly is good to see those greens and they will be worth a bounce, when it comes.

I'll keep a close eye on Rusty tonight. We may be up a bit later than usual.

Thanks for everyone's help today. Lisa is right: the biggest variable is FD itself!
