10/11/11 Zener Alpha Trak
AMPS 221, 1st cycle @ 0.75u, 1.4oz 11%

Zener had another active cycle last night so we decided to shave the dose to 0.75u. He is loving those high carbs, especially the sea cucumber treats. He starts shaking with excitement when he hears us rustling the plastic bag.  He did eat well this morning. We are giving him the 11% after the carb binge to make sure he'll eat. We'll start lowering the carbs tomorrow. Unless he has other plans.

Have a great day, LL!

Re: 10/11 Zener AMPS 221

The treats are a mixed blessing. A previous vet recommended them for Zener's joints because they have chondroitin in them. Turns out they have very little chondroitin and a lot of honey. We used to give 5 of them to him every day because he loves them so much. Now we give 1 or 2 when he's diving. I wonder how much that contributed to his diabetes (along with the dry food diet). NutriSea sea cucumber it says on the bag.

Re: 10/11 Zener AMPS 221

Zener is another kitty in need of patience pants! Really anxious to go O*J? Easy does it boy! Slowly now, a little blue, a surf in green, no big drops!

Re: 10/11 Zener AMPS 221

We definitely want an (anti-jinx) on that thought but it has occurred to me. We are REALLY happy to see him in better numbers, knowing how much better that is for his body and seeing how much better he feels. Thanks for visiting, Linda.

Zener is doing great. It is a nice warm, sunny autumn morning and he is in his backyard on his bench surveying his domain. I (Anne) had a glorious 8 hours of sleep! :-D I'm off to tbp now and Liz is home until his midcycle check today. The nice lady with the vacuum is coming today, so the kitties will spend most of the afternoon under the beds! :-D

Re: 10/11 Zener AMPS 221,+3 246

Not sayin' nuttin'! Except very pretty cycle! Actually on the treats, I bet he would like them even better w/out the honey! Why do they put stuff like that in cat food.

Re: 10/11 Zener AMPS 221,+3 246, +6 185

Wow, you did have a busy cycle last night. I like his nice flat cycle today. Zener and Maggie are having similar cycles today. Those sea cucumber treats sound like something I would like  I think I'd better make some lunch if I'm ready to eat cat treats. Have a nice day.

Re: 10/11 Zener AMPS 221,+3 246, +6 185

Hi Ann (&Tess) - I don't know why they add those things like honey, must taste good and cover up the chondroitin or "medicine" taste. Or I could get really cynical.... We were just glad to discover they were so useful to bring Zener up if he is dropping. It was darn hard to get him to eat, and he wouldn't eat at all with karo on his food. And he LOVES these treats, gets excited whenever we touch the bag, so they are now our "secret weapon"! I can post the full info on them and how to order, if anyone is interested.

Hi Ann (& Maggie) - yes, it was a busy night, and several in a row. @-) Zener has been on a roll! :-D I hope you got some lunch before you had to get into Maggie's fuds! I'm not sure why they are called sea cucumber. They are about kibble size and look like little soft chewy bits of kibble.

Re: 10/11 Zener PMPS 146 A Trak

Good evening LL!
Zener had an interesting AM cycle after another active night. This morning, he started in the low yellows and came down to the blues. We were getting some good action last night after only 3 cycles at the f0.75 and we were using carbs like crazy. So, this AM we shaved his dose to 0.75u (after having an earned reduction a few cycles ago when we shaved after that earned reduction rather than a full 0.25, since he had not held reductions all that great in the past).

Today
10/11/11 Zener Alpha Trak
AMPS 221, 1st cycle @ 0.75u, 1.4oz 11%
+3 246, 0.55oz 11%
+5 0.6oz 11%
+6 185, 0.2oz 5%
+10.5 141, FDCK @ poke
PMPS 146, 2nd cycle @ 0.75u, 0.95oz 11%

It sure is hard to get him back on the lower carbs after a night of the high carb binges! We'll see how things go tonight and then start trying to make up our MC/LC mix again.

Hope everyone has a good evening!

Re: 10/11 Zener PMPS 146;+2 276 A Trak

Well, well...quite a leap up at +2. Maybe Zener wants us to catch up on our sleep tonight! ;-)

PMPS 146, 2nd cycle @ 0.75u, 0.95oz 11%
+1 0.30oz 11%
+2 276, 1.0oz 11%

We haven't seen a number this high in three days, isn't that great? :-D

Well darn, bye bye to our string of beautiful blues and greens. We haven't seen the p**ks in several days. Guess we shouldn't be surprised that our bouncy boy is bouncing. We had a big clue at his +2. And it's been a few cycles without one.

PMPS 146, 2nd cycle @ 0.75u, 0.95oz 11%
+1 0.30oz 11%
+2 276, 1.0oz 11%
+5 376, 0.45oz 11% + 0.20oz 5%, urine neg for ketones

Paws crossed this bounce doesn't last too long. Where did we put those patience pants?
flip_cat

Taking advantage of these numbers for a good night's sleep, no PJ party for us tonight. Ni Ni LL!
