Poor beans, we're having a crazy day and Zener's having a great cycle!

Today
10/13/11 Zener Alpha Trak
AMPS 260, 5th cycle @ 0.75u, 1.0oz 9%
+2 202, 0.75oz 9%
+3 148, 0.9oz 11%
+3.5 134, 1t. 17% + 2 semi soft treats
+5 173

I sent Zener's BG values to Liz at work when I had to dash off to an appointment. I was afraid the way he was dropping we could see some low numbers and not be here to test. So, I gave him a bit of HC and treats (with honey) to hopefully slow the drop until we could get home later in the afternoon. Liz managed to dash home and I managed to dash back after my appointment, so we both ended up home about the same time! It was a little bit like bean zoomies! Since we got here to test, and feed, HC & treats probably weren't necessary. Of course, he was not interested in his LC mix after the good fuds. Oh well, better safe than sorry!

Hi Anne, you and Liz sure do a great job with both of your schedules, and Zener is one lucky kitty. Nice cycle and some nice blues. I interrupted Maggie's nice cycle with some mc, too, as I was gone and wasn't sure where she was headed. Have a nice day and hope tonight you can catch your breath and get some rest.

Re: 10/13 Zener AMPS 260;+2 202;+3 148;+3.5 134;+5 173;+10 1

Thank you for your kind words, Ann! It is a challenge and we have more flexibility in our schedules than many others.

Looks like Zener had a nice blue surf this afternoon. We are sure glad to see that! Could be an interesting evening. Sending healing thoughts to beans and kitties.
Liz

I think you two are also doing an awesome job considering your work schedules.

Zener is doing so great....we are truly, truly happy for you all!!!

Have a great evening and I hope he'll surf a nice high green for you so you all can rest.

Thank you, Marje. Zener is doing great because of all the help we've gotten here in LL. The kindness and expertise of everyone is amazing.

What a wonderful cycle for Zener today! Marje is right... you guys are doing a great job! I know the pressures of trying to work the sugar dance around work... it's not easy. But you guys are allowing Zener to thrive! :-D :-D :-D

Have a great night!

Re: 10/13 Zener AMPS 260;+2 202;+3 148;+3.5 134;+5 173;+10 1

Thanks Celi, Zenie Genie is working it! :-D

Christie, thanks for your kind words. We are so fortunate to live only 10 minutes from where we work and our schedules are more flexible than so many people. We are so grateful for all the help and support we get here in LL. :-D

Re: 10/13 Zener PMPS 174 ATrak

We're hoping this cycle was the bounce breaker and we can now see what this 0.75 dose will do for the big guy.

AMPS 260, 5th cycle @ 0.75u, 1.0oz 9%
+2 202, 0.75oz 9%

+3.5 134, 1t. 17% + 2 semi soft treats
+5 173

+10 148, FDCK @ poke
PMPS 174, 6th cycle @ 0.75u, 0.95oz 9%

Thank goodness it wasn't a Monday or Wednesday, when our schedules are not very flexible. We managed to get checks throughout his cycle and he was back in the blues most of the cycle. Zener's appetite is the best it has been since the switch to the wet food diet, and fortiflora helps. Also pepcid a/c really helps when he has the upset tummy burps. This is the lowest carbs we have had him on, and eating consistently without appetite stimulant. And the best news - he feels better, has more energy and is starting to do things he hasn't done in months. :-D

Hope everyone has a peaceful Thursday evening.

Re: 10/13 Zener PMPS 174;+1.5 147 ATrak

Zener is working the blues today. We get nervous though when we see drops so early in the cycle. Saw that this morning at +3 and tonight, he is dropping already at +1.5. Getting prepared for PJ party, just in case. Thank goodness new strips arrived from ADW today! We've been going through a lot of strips in the past week.

Today

+3.5 134, 1t. 17% + 2 semi soft treats

PMPS 174, 6th cycle @ 0.75u, 1.6oz 9%
+1.5 147, 0.35oz 10%

Trying to hold off the med carbs to see what happens at +3. Zener did his evening rounds, guarded the woodpile for any mouse action and just jumped up on the filing cabinet (using steps made from boxes for his CH accessibility) and is helping Liz work at her computer. I'm sure he will be reading condos if she leaves the computer alone for just a minute. ;-)

Zener is having a great day, started in yellow and has been in blue since early in his AM cycle. His appetite is good and all 5Ps in place. :-D
PMPS 174, 6th cycle @ 0.75u, 1.6oz 9%
+1.5 147, 0.35oz 10%
+3 136, 1.0oz 10%, urine negative for ketones and glucose

Work was nutty this week, so we are looking forward to the weekend. Days are warm, so we can leave the back door open for Zener to patrol his backyard whenever he wants. I leave for a 4 day trip to London a week from Sunday, so Liz will be the single mom. We are hoping he is nice and flat then.

I'll get another spot check before bedtime and set the water alarm if necessary, depending on what numbers Zener decides to show. ;-)
