Zener was feeling frisky last night and played with Tillie in the game "who's under the rug?" He's been outside this morning, he ate a big brefis of LC (for him) and is now on his bed on the top of the low filing cabinet in Liz's office, helping her work. So, despite the high numbers he is feeling better this morning than yesterday morning. :-D

Best wishes and healing vines to all our kitties and beans in need today. Hope everyone has a good Caturday!

Re: 10/15 Zener AMPS 363 A Trak

What's going on Zener...if that's a bounce from those blues Mister....it's time to move on!

Anne I'm glad he's feeling good and having fun! We'll keep our fingers and paws crossed for you too today!

Re: 10/15 Zener AMPS 363 A Trak

Those are not nice numbers for Zener today and yesterday. Come on down, Zener! At least he is feeling great and playing. That is always nice to see.

Re: 10/15 Zener AMPS 363;+3 182 A Trak

Thanks Jessica and Georgia, he's listening to you! ;-)

Today

We'd be doing cartwheels if we could! He's eating his 2nd brefis right now.

Re: 10/15 Zener AMPS 363;+3 182 A Trak

Hi Anne, that's a nice drop to blue at the +3 and hope Zener does a nice surf down into a nice range. Thanks for visiting our condo earlier. It's nice to have another ATrak user to compare. I think I may need a new battery soon, as it seems to take longer to get a reading. I hope this weekend you and Liz can get a breather and relax and do something fun.

Re: 10/15 Zener AMPS 363;+3 182 A Trak

Thanks Ann, he is still dropping and darn close to green, especially with the ATrak! :-D The last time I ordered test strips from ADW online, I ordered extra batteries for the AT meter. Their prices are pretty reasonable for the ATrak supplies.

Re: 10/15 Zener AMPS 363;+3 182;+4.5 126 A Trak

So much for our calm Caturday! We had the adventure of the magically disappearing and reappearing Zener!

Today
10/15/11 Zener Alpha Trak
AMPS 363, 9th cycle @ 0.75u, 1.75oz 9%, urine negative for ketones
+3 182 :-D
+4.5 126

I walked down the street to a neighborhood elementary school to teach my Saturday morning karate class. Things were looking good with Zener and the bounce busting behavior, so I didn't carry my mobile phone. About an hour later, I hear Liz yelling across the playground - Zener was missing! She went to get him to test at +4 since he had such a big drop at +3 and he was nowhere to be found. It would be pretty difficult for him to get out of our yard, since we have a high wood fence around our yard and he is unable to jump or climb with his CH. But Liz had searched everywhere outside and inside and even pulled out the bag of his beloved treats and shook that around - still no Zener. Our neighbor came down to get me while Liz continued the search and she couldn't find me. So she came back and got Liz and they both came to find me. Still no Zener, but they found me. So, back up the hill we come. When Liz and I dash in discussing where in the heck he could be, could he be, how he could have gotten out, was he laying somewhere hypo and can't get to us and various other doomsday scenarios, who is sitting inside at the open back door looking at us but -Zener! :RAHCAT

He of course is NOT talking about where he was, and poor Liz and I are trying to recover from the big scare! He either has a very secret hiding place we do not know about, or he was temporarily abducted by aliens - we only live 25 miles from Sedona, the vortexes, pink jeep tours to alien sites and other fascinating weirdness. ;-)

Re: 10/15 Zener AMPS 363;+3 182;+4.5 126 A Trak

Still recovering... Going to Oktober fest in a while. May take several German beers.
Liz

Re: 10/15 Zener AMPS 363;+3 182;+4.5 126;+5.5 128 A Trak

Have fun! Zener is having a great cycle today - I hate those scares...and they always look so innocent!!

Oh my gosh, Anne & Liz, how scary for you both and what a rascal Zener is not talking. I say go ahead and have those German beers to calm your nerves, you deserve it. My GA Siamese used to scare me with similar incidents.

Re: 10/15 Zener AMPS 363;+3 182;+4.5 126;+5.5 128 A Trak

Thanks Sherry and Ann! It's nice to know Zener is not the only feline Houdini! I tried to coerce him to tell me by shaking his bag of treats and saying "if you talk, you get a treat!" He wouldn't crack.

Beautiful day for Zener! Don't you know black cats have the power of invisibility?

Re: 10/15 Zener AMPS 363;+3 182;+4.5 126;+5.5 128;+7 143 A T

Ah, so that's it! Thanks for explaining it to us Linda. Those black kitties are sure magical! ;-)

Re: 10/15 Zener PMPS 240 A Trak

The Oktoberfest celebration, lots of brats yum, helped us recover from the anxiety of the disappearing Zener episode this morning! ;-)

Today

Re: 10/15 Zener PMPS 240;+2 326 Dose? A Trak

We had hoped we were busting a bounce and turning a corner but now he is back up in the pinks at just +2 tonight. He seems to be back to big jumps, drops and bounces. We were liking those blues and greens. :?
Do we need to consider a dosecrease, or is he bouncing again so soon, or maybe not done with the previous bounce? Would love experienced eyes and feedback.

Today

Re: 10/15 Zener PMPS 240;+2 326 Dose? A Trak

What a scare! But on the other hand, look how fantastic Zener is doing since you came!!
He is active, he's playing, eating for the most part, and really a much improved cat!!
It is not allways about the numbers Ann--Look at the whole cat!!!
He has had some nice blues and a nicer cycle since 10/14--
Ask for dosing help tomorrow if you feel he needs this..I think you are doing a great job, but tell everyone to keep the door closed please   Hugs & lub from us!!

Re: 10/15 Zener PMPS 240;+2 326 Dose? A Trak

Roni, thanks for the pep talk. We are feeling a big discouraged tonight so you gave us a good reminder of the progress that Zener has made. That little rascal!

Sienne: thank you as always for checking our condo and responding to our questions. Patience pants being donned as I type.

Liz

Thank you for the reminder - he is more active, plays and is eating better and moving toward lower carb foods. He is definitely more improved. It makes it harder when he has a low day, because after feeling good days, the low days seems worse than before. It really helps to have other eyes on his SS to remind us of the improvements he has made.

Today was difficult because we had some great cycles then the red/pink day, some blues today  and then back up again tonight  . Also, we weigh him every week and he is now at his lowest weight - about 12 1/2 lbs. Although he isn't what our vet considers underweight, he has lost about 2 lbs since diagnosis in March. We worry about him losing weight, not eating and on and on. Just one of those nights for the beans. (and days - the lost episode really rocked us). Thanks again for your support, it helps so much.

Re: 10/15 Zener PMPS 240;+2 326;+3.5 334 A Trak

Z-Man...for shame, giving the beans a scare like that!
have these kitties no idea how freaked we get???

and i'm very late posting...but in answer to your question in zener's condo yesterday...

NOOOOO!!! don't change the notation...I LOVE IT!!
makes me laugh everytime i see it :-D

Re: 10/15 Zener PMPS 240;+2 326;+3.5 334 A Trak

Thanks for the encouragement Celi and NO - they have no idea how freaked we get. ohmygod_smile It put us on edge the entire day!
Okay, we'll keep using the FDCK@poke. We experimented with a new abbreviation today - FDCh at test - just not the same. ;-)
