happy November, guys!

we've lost our condo twice today...until it dawned on me that it was pretty whiny & crabby-
and that's just NOT a Binksy condo, so we started over!

We were an hour late with the shot today...

Suffice it to say that I battled with a 15 lb Tortie Smudge all night long,
and judging by the fact that I am exhausted and have an aching neck from her sleeping where she chose,
while she is parked on my legs and snoozing away happily...the tiny little gladiator won!

i will tell the funniest part...
my sister told me that she used to control the girls by growling at them...
so after 4 hrs of various styles of combat, I gave it a try.
You would fall down laughing if you could have seen it...
She'd growl, I'd growl louder...and we just kept raising the level...
with me getting closer and more menacing above her little angry face,
while Annie cowered in the corner and Binks was busily dialing the phone trying to call out the Animal Control Officers.
With my face about 2 inches away, she finally subsided with what I took to be grudging submission...
until she reached out and slapped me across the face :shock: :o :lol:

But, Lil Mister, who is in fine fettle this morning...curled up on the couch with me and cuddled for 3 hours!
He's a lovey guy...but not a "cuddle while I sleep" type...so Binksy-baby...THANK YOU FOR THE EGO MASSAGE!

4 OF 5 P'S for him so far...and even though we shot an hour late...gorgeous numbers!

and we'd like to share a particularly Idaho-style smile with you...
MIGHT AS WELL FACE IT...YOU'RE ADDICTED TO SPUDS!

Oh I knew I would get a laugh from your condo. :lol: Wow, with the greens! No side effects from all the partying Binksy did last night!! Binksy, what is your secret to the greens?

Wow! Great cycle Binks. Funny story on your tortie today. Turnup does the same thing. It seems like every night is a battle lately.

Sounds like Smudge rules the bedding arrangements! I hope the whinny, crabby feelings are gone along with the aborted condos. Good boy Binks, making mamabean feel all better! And BTW great numbers again!

Maybe your sister's growling technique isn't right for you? But I think Smudge will have the last word no matter what you do!

Binks, however, is indeed a prince, and gives you wonderful numbers even when you shoot an hour late. He's really itching to get back to his condo at the Falls, that's for sure.

Dorothy, you were a big help to all the kitties last night supervising their make-up. And Rusty said that he thinks you're a great dancer. It was a lively party!!

not yet, although as I'm practicing for the next step, I think i have realized that we are shooting much closer to a .1 than a skinny .25 :roll:

and regarding Smudge...
it was absolutely out of control last night.

She tore down the curtains in the 2nd bedroom, broke an antique vase, and cracked a window.
Binks got bit, and Annie and I both have scratched noses. :sad: ...
while the troublemaker is strutting around victorious today.

and ALL of this over who sleeps where :?

my sister's growling technique isn't working for me...
and the one thing we have tried in the last year & half that works-
me putting her out when she starts her antics, and just ignoring her systematically going to each door & window
pounding and yowling to get my attention...
is no longer an option cuz it's too cold here.

check out the look on her face...it says it all...
I call it "Snake Eyes"

oh well...we'll get through it... :-D

LOL......Celi, I am sorry for laughing....but the growling, I have actually tried that, worked about as well for me as it did for you....those tortie girls sure have some serious 'tude!! :lol: ;-)

I'm sorry that your tortie is giving you the fits. All I can hope for all of you is less 'tude from her. I, too, have a tortie, and she's not like what you've described. Although, she has chased a few of the other civvies around, but no fighting, or growling. She'd just as soon as sit on your lap for hours.

That look on Smudge's face is priceless! A look of definite superiority. I can't believe she smacked you on the face when you started growling. You must have been saying something pretty wild in growl talk for her to do that.

yes was wondering the same thing as Liz concerning water bottle it works pretty good here on some things just kinda depends but if you have a serious tude :twisted: cat then it might make her growl more and I am just so laughing :lol: :lol: over this I am sure it was not funny at your house though but you know I am getting this mental pic of Bean stand off with cat while Binks is in audience betting on who wins match :lol: :lol: :lol: and on to Binks he is sure looking fine these days :mrgreen:

and yes...we've tried it all..."mother cat" grip on the scruff, compromise...
i was just letting her have her way, but she is seriously cramping my muscles!

the spray bottle actually scares the pee-diddle out of the Torties...
BUT- Smudge cowers, and Binks attacks with a vengeance...
and he LOVES the spray bottle. He's my water-baby.

The canned hisses scare all 3...but then everything's in an uproar.

It was all just stressing me cuz it's been such a long cpl months...

surely do appreciate all the humor and support though...
you guys are the best!

oh my, that is quite a satisfied little smirk on her face, isn't it?!?

we're fans of the squirt bottle at our house. ever since we got anya, i swear punkin sends her out to bug us while he stays back with his "i didn't do anything" innocent face.

binks is looking perilously good . . .

You know...we have a 1 year old kitten named Jasspurr who is hell on wheels. I have NEVER owned a cat more prone to biting just for fun, pouncing on the other cat's backs, grabbing hold of the dogs leg and gnawing...the list goes on! The little snot started getting time-outs in a large cat kennel...and he now goes in all on his own when he's been bad and knows that is where he's headed anyway. :lol: Perhaps the high and mighty could spend a few nights in a kennel or outside of the bedroom? It hasn't cured Jasspurr...but it DID bring him down a few pegs.

*For what its worth - he used to really pick on Salem & Kazi. Salem weighs 11lbs, Jaspurr around the same...Kazi is a petite little thing at only just barely 9 pounds. She finally decided she had enough and beat the snot out of him one day. He learned his lesson and never did it again. ;-)

okay...so after messing about with syringes and such...
I feel pretty confident that he has been getting 2 drops each cycle at this dose.
tomorrow will be day 7 with numbers under 100...
(contraband aside)...
and i plan to reduce to 1 drop...
unless anyone feels differently.

Never a dull moment in you household. Good luck tonight, please no growling, the men in the white coats may come. It's hard to believe that serene looking little tortie could be such a hel*raiser. Hope you get some rest tonight.

Smudge was born in a Ground Owl burrow outside the Idaho State Penitentiary where my sister worked.
An opportunistic badger got hold of the momma & litter...
my sister heard the screaming, but the bugger took off the tip of Smudgie's ear
before she and her brother (the only 2 survivors) were rescued by Tam.
Grubb ( her brother) lost 2 of his polydactyl toes on one foot in the fray.

She comes by her tuff-ness & 'tude righteously :-D

So you can see why Smudge is a fighter, she never trusts anyone!
Torn apart by a wild animal!! Can see her problems!--She doesnt think she's safe yet.

Well, Tam did try and was apparently successful. That Tam is one tough girl, to face down the Smudge. :smile:

What a story!! Poor Smudge. Guess she has a right to cop a 'tude!! And no doubt your growl was small pototoes (Idaho style) to her compared to a badger. What a lucky kitty to have found your family....
