Good Morning, Everyone and happy Saturday,

Rusty is back to his new trend of apparently having the nadir fall at preshot. When this happened a few days ago (Nov. 1 and 2) I decided to skinny the dose (to a skinny 2.0), but the results after 4 cycles were not satisfactory so I went back up to a "regular" 2.0 on Nov. 3. Yesterday (Nov. 4) he gradually slid back into the new trend, and this morning we are at AMPS 64. I shot the regular 2.0 and will be around all day to observe and intervene if necessary. This is the 5th cycle of regular 2.0 units. 64 is about the lowest preshot number I have shot (certainly at this higher dose). I guess it's a good thing that I'm still sick and will not go to the opera today. (I decided that sneezing and coughing through a 5 1/2 hour performance would not be fun for me, and certainly would not be fun for those sitting near me!)

We began the transition to Eastern Standard Time last night and this morning Rusty was puzzled that we didn't get up on time. He really wanted his breakfast (and when I saw the 64 I knew why!!). Test, breakfast and shot went normally. Question: since I have been shooting at or in back of the scruff (where I can see skin better than on Rusty's long-hair-covered sides), I have occasionally noticed small, loose "scabs" of dried blood, apparently from a previous shot. At first I worried that this was flea dirt, but close inspection reveals no fleas or flecks in other places. Is it common to find a dried blood drop at the injection site? I have never noticed this before (but then I never looked when shooting behind the shoulder, on Rusty's side (or, for that matter, on Stu's side). Last week I did, apparently, nick a capillary, but all the shots since have been clean (inspected immediately after shooting). Rusty might just have thin skin. Anyone have thoughts about this?

Very cold here this morning (20 degrees F.).
Sending healing vines to Ozzie, Muffin, and all kitties in need of them,

Ella & Rusty

Re: 11/5 Rusty AMPS 64(!)

Morning Ella,

I have no thoughts on any of your questions. But Woo Hoo on 64!! I'm sorry the seasonal ick is keeping you from the opera, but it looks like staying home was in the cards for you today anyway.

Re: 11/5 Rusty AMPS 64(!)

My guys are confused over the time change, as well. I shoot in the scruff. I've never noticed any blood but then again, I've never looked that closely. What gauge needle are you using? Maybe switching to a thinner gauge needle would help.

Re: 11/5 Rusty AMPS 64(!)

Nice Hooting! Tess has joined Rusty w/ the late nadir thing. It takes some getting used to, even if in you head you know the rise is going to come later.

I'm sorry you will miss the opera, but a wise choice all around. You can still listen though. I'm probably going to regret this, but I'm going to leave the shot tim be. We will be shooting an hour earlier and I'll get a better btb. i seem to sleep better in the morning and the late nights won't be so late. :?

Re: 11/5 Rusty AMPS 64(!)

Morning Ella and wow with the 64! May be an exciting day today. Sorry you're still sick and will miss the Opera, but better to take care of yourself and get better. Sending some healing vines. I use the Monoject 29 Gauge 1/2" needle.

Re: 11/5 Rusty AMPS 64(!)

morning - wow on that amps! seems some kitties on lev have their nadir at PS times... such an unfamiliar territory for me... I too shoot on the scruff for the most part, also use the 31 gauge. sometimes I too notice what you have, what appears to be small drop of dried blood... not often, but they have been there, it never seems to have affected Mannie though.

Sorry you are still sick, and that you have to miss the opera... feel better vines headed your way.

and I know on the time change... Mannie never seems to care, but the eldest one: omg! I know she will be bellowing at the wrong hour, and I sure hope she figures it out soon.

Re: 11/5 Rusty AMPS 64(!), +3 131

Nice job shooting Ella! Great numbers Rusty! Good call on staying home too....I think you made a wise choice! Hope you guys have a good day...(my first thought was like what Sienne asked...so...hmmm.....your syringes seem great....dunno what to say...)

Keep warm kiddo.... You wrote that it is "very cold" at 20 degrees...yeah, right....HA! That's not "cold" in your book in February is it? That's when you guys have your block parties and your picnics....maybe you can check out your cross country trails now...
I remember when you said it was a "warm 20 degree day" but that was last winter...enjoy the heat spell now...
It's freezing here in Florida at 65°F...we're dyin' down here from the cold! We have to put on long pants and closed shoes....
f r e e z i n g cold! brrrrr.....
I can't even imagine 20 degrees.....

So sorry you're not feeling well!! I cannot believe you're already getting temps in the 20's!! Whoa!! My sister lives about 45 minutes outside of Las Vegas, up in the mountains, and she got a ton of snow yesterday!!!!

Rusty's numbers look really nice today!!! You're a brave woman to shot that 64, but then again, you have the data you need to do it, so good job!!

I hope you have a nice healing, feel-better day today!!

What a gorgeous lev cycle for Rusty!! Isn't it so much fun when they join the nadir at +12 club?   He's been looking so much better lately!!

I don't know on the scabs question......once in a blue moon, I might get a little capillary but it doesn't even bleed and I haven't seen any scabs.

I'm so sorry you can't go to the opera! I know how much you wanted to. Big hugs and feel better soon. Tobey is bringing more KTSS for his beloved Aunt Ellabean.

Auntie Ellabean....it's me...Tobes!! I'm coming to takes care of you!!! Not even Rusty snuggles like I do and I brings you lots of soup, lots of cimmamum things, and most of all ME!! I hopes my picture below makes you feels better tills I get there. Lubs you!!!

Lubs you, too, Tobes!! Thank you for taking care of me! And I love your picture.

Hi Everyone,
Edward reports that "Siegfried" was terrific. Hopefully I'll be able to see it in an "encore" showing later this season. I'm still in head-cold mode, but it's not as bad today as it was. Rusty and I had a good day with some outdoor time (lots of sunshine, despite the cool temps.). He was very patient this evening waiting for it to be time for dinner. We have now accomplished the time-shift. Hooray! Of course, tomorrow morning everything will be "wrong".

Enjoy the evening,

Ella & Rusty
