Morning all been a few days since we had a condo just been busy and very very frustrated over meter variance confused_cat confused_cat yes yes I know we all go down this road I have more then once but he has been peeing and drinking way too much well ever since we got back from out trip now of course he did have that one low night with my DS on 10/29 hitting 37 well this weekend sat to be exact I found some contour strips I had not used yet were still good from all those freebies and he was in the 400s according to that   and in 200s according to FSL so I have since ordered more A trak strips which are so expensive but want to see what he is on that meter with that being said he is doing ok with all P's in place but still peeing too much I am still trying to get a keytone test just have not caught him peeing at right time

wow, and I am glad that DL is feeling OK, doing Do Lou things. Bummer on the meter variance... I hate that. I finally just stopped, settled on one, tossed the erst. It was driving me buts.

yeah I know thats probably what I should do too Michelle well would not toss my A trak paid too much for that but anyway contour is rated very low this year in ratings so kinda listeninghttp://www.consumerreports.org/heal...meter/ratings/blood-glucose-meter-ratings.htm to that

We use the Alpha Trak and the strips are more expensive. On the other hand, whenever we've taken two readings in a row, they are pretty close, definitely within meter variance. We do have other meters as backups and tried them a few times but keep sticking with the Alpha Trak. We talk about switching but haven't done it. Good luck with the pee stalking.

Hi guys .. sorry to hear about the meter frustration .. we used the relion and just always stuck with it .. Well, I think once we tried changing but since the numbers were fairly close and the relion strips were so much cheaper we just went with that one .. I hope you can get the ketone test today and that it shows negative .. have a great day!

(((Lisa))) The meter thing is really frustrating. I use a One Touch Ultra Mini and have a Contour backup. I took the OT and the Contour and checked them against my vet's AT. The Contour read 30 mg/dl higher than the AT and the OT read 30 mg/dl lower than the AT. Recently when I had Gracie's bloodwork done, my OT showed her BG to be 228; the lab result came back as 215. I did try the FS light once but I didn't like the butterfly strips. Altho the OT strips aren't cheap, I really like it and the two OTs I have are always pretty close in number to each other. So I totally agree...just pick one and let it be your guide.

I know Sienne uses a Contour and loves hers.

Yeah I started with one touch but it requires WAY too much blood so that was why I got rid of it
