Healing vines and prayers for Jill's DH and all the kitties having medical issues and their Beans, too.

Morning (: a little disappointing to see Mags back to yellow, but a nice drop at the +2! Mags was acting starved is the reason why I did a +2! I know last night I did not get a correct two drops dose and came up short. Early this morning catching up on everyone, I read in couple condos something about a variance in the Monojects. I've mentioned a few times here that I noticed in one box of MJ's that the plunger on some of the syringes went over the top line, so measuring two drops was a challenge and was taking me about 20 minutes or longer to get the correct dose. The method I use to get two drops is to start counting from the first half unit mark, but each syringe was different, so sometimes it was a guessing game. There was another syringe mentioned now being sold by ADW that was recommended, and I'll go back and re-read. Other than the Bean having problems measuring and getting a drop blood, all is well in Maggie's world, playful with her mouse toy but no zoom zooms today. I saw some new pole toys at Petco with a squeaker mouse, and next visit I think I may get her one for all the pain I'm causing her with the ear pricks and dose mishaps. :-| She's still so purry and loving thru it all.

Good morning, Ann! Nice come-back for Maggie, but so many kittie seem to be running higher than usual around here. What's the deal?

Can you point me to the condo about the syringes - both monojects and the new recommendation? I've noticed the incosistency, too, and today it really stood out that the "0" line in this morning's syringe was much closer to the actual needle than usual.

You said Maggie is still eating Instinct chicken, right? I'm wondering if there's some sort of formula change that we don't know about. I'm going to try a different food for Trix tonight...not sure what, though.

Also, am I remembering correctly that Maggie has renal issues? Do you know the phosphorous level of Instinct? I'm curious, because my Mario likes it but has renal insufficiency.

Have a great day!

Amy

I hate to try and do the guessing game on the syringes that aren't flush against the last line before the needle. It really makes dosing correctly difficult. Like you, and the others, I'm a perfectionist when it comes to dosing. You have to be. Hoping for a nice, low surf for you both today, and thank you for your comments on my condo. I greatly appreciate them, and am doing my best to get myself better. Nobody else will, right? Thankfully, I'm not feverish, just feeling icky. So, the Zicam came out to hopefully nip it in the butt early, and recover quicker.

wow on the monojets... i will have to pay better attention, as we uss those too. Before we had BD's, and they were worse - such line inconsistency... Mannie's dose isn't even anywhere near what Maggie gets, so I guess I just haven't felt the need to examine the syringes closely - will have to change that!, since as we all knows, even a drop variance can make such a difference. I wish you luck - I can't even imagine having to measure just drops...

nice though that Maggie feels good - YAY!

I hope too that your weather has improved so you can go for your walk.

+4 185

Not much change, but Maggie is eating up a storm today.

Hi Amy, it was Marge & Gracie's condo yesterday where I read some talk about the syringes. Yes, Maggie is still eating Instinct Chicken. I checked and it doesn't have anything added to the can as in "New" as they usually do when changing the formula. The Instinct has .20% phosphorus. It does seem like quite a few kitties are running high. Yes, Maggie does have renal insuffiiency. I wonder if this is the reason for higher bgs she also needs a dental, dread, dread!

Hi Michelle, yes, nice weather today, so after laundry I hope to get out and do a few things and take a short walk.

Hi Angela, I know, very frustrating getting the perfectionist dose. Glad you are feeling better.

Hi Ann: hoping Maggie comes back down for you.

I just have gotten to where I set aside the syringes that are not consistent and I'm going to call MJ and see what they say. I'll send them to them if I need to. Very frustrating but I don't have the patience to figure out what the correct dose is when the line is off so I just get one that is right. The syringes aren't THAT expensive..it's just frustrating.

Hope you two are having a great day!

Hi Marje, thanks and I hope so, too, she comes down. Thanks on the syringes. The whole box was off with the lines, and I should have called and asked for a replacement in hindsight.

Lisa, thanks, fingers and paws crossed for some blues the pm cycle.

Hi Celi, I hope so for some greens. Thanks for asking. The leg is still a little red and swollen and the wound is all black and yucky looking. I should be elevating it more and applying heat.
