Moses! This is the highest PMPS we've ever had! We've never hit red before!

I'm so mad! angry(2)_cat

This morning, thinking... "yes, the treat test is clearing out". The +3 last night was on track, our first blue AMPS in four days.... and look at this number!!! Moses!

WCR: Alright, I'm checking out the poops now. Somethings up. He had 1 tiny pee and 4 tiny poos. Honestly, I've never analyzed poop before so I think I accidently cut it up while I was uncovering it. So after it was in pieces, I was confused on whether he had 4 separate poops or 1 big un. I just got home from work, so I'm not sure what his behavior has been through the day. He's acting quite fine right now. Meowing hello when I come home, running over to be tested, eager. You'd never know he was 423! Purring for a treat during test, he got 1. Ready for dinner.

The cleaning lady came today and she freaks him out, big time. My mom put him in my room and she said he was eating a lot. But it was still his regular amount.... Usually he doesn't eat when he's upset. Maybe he ate and ate and ate and that combo with fear drove him to red?

Added Edit: She's been here once before and it didn't affect his numbers at all.

I dunno, any input?

So much for being thrifty with the test strips, I'll test tonight. And! I'm off tomorrow! Please ya'll, help me get to the bottom of this. This red is freaking me out.

Truth is, Moses seems good though. That is good.

Re: 2/9 Moses AMPS 181 PMPS 423! Question!

By the way, for his PMPS I went ahead a shot his regular dose of .75u and fed him his LC dinner afterwards. I've been feeding him LC breakfasts and dinners since PMPS 2/2/10.

Re: 2/9 Moses AMPS 181 PMPS 423! Question!

Hi Erica,
Hard to tell..... did your cleaning lady have a white coat? Stress increases BG no doubt.
It could also be rebound from a potential green last night, but without data... we can't see.
Hopefully someone else comes and shines a light on Moses....

Re: 2/9 Moses AMPS 181 PMPS 423! Question!

A couple of thoughts just to brainstorm...

Could Moses have gotten into some "forbidden" food that was in your room or in the house? Any chance there was something the housekeeper could have given Moses or he could have snatched?

There's always the possibility that his numbers were low this AM and the red is a bounce.

(My vote is for door #1.)

Re: 2/9 Moses AMPS 181 PMPS 423! Question!

Ya, Helene & Tizon, I agree. I need to get more data tonight. This is so peculiar! Nothing out of our routine is different now than when we first began?

According to his chart, his PMPS peak was around his +3 (which is odd). I'd stay up to +6 and it was usually decreasing by that time. I'll definitely get some more numbers tonight.

I understand if it's hard to make sense of his chart....

Re: 2/9 Moses AMPS 181 PMPS 423! Question!

You know what, Sienne & Gabby. It did cross my mind how his treats dumped all of the floor and I grabbed them. Maybe there was a couple I didn't grab yesterday?

With the cleaning lady here today, she coulda vacuumed it up. But before noon? Could be!

Those (bleep!) Greenies!

Re: 2/9 Moses AMPS 181 PMPS 423! Question!

Erica - I remember the other day when you were questioning Moses' climbing numbers you also mentioned something about your cartridge. How long has your cartridge been open?

Sorry if you already addressed this the other day and opened a new one. :?

Re: 2/9 Moses AMPS 181 PMPS 423! Question!

Oooooh! The 28th day of cartridge was on 2/4. And just the day after is when all this yellow funny business has begun!

Do you really think the insulin could be expired and cause all this ruckus?

Re: 2/9 Moses AMPS 181 PMPS 423! Question!

I can't answer that for sure, but someone told me when I asked about how long the catridges last that if I noticed Webber's #'s rising for no reason it could be the insulin. Let's see what others say. I would hate for you to open a new one just because I mentioned that. ;-)

Re: 2/9 Moses AMPS 181 PMPS 423! Question!

hang in there, Erica!

It could be a lot of things, but I'd be willing to bet there is green that we're missing. Moses has some big early drops at night, and it's reasonable to think he could keep dropping that fast for a couple more hours. Even the fast drops *could* set off a bounce on their own, even if he doesn't go green.

Insulin, yes it's a possibility, it never hurts to change it if you're in doubt but getting more spot checks would help too.

Re: 2/9 Moses PMPS 423 update

Alright.....

So. My mom just confided to me that she accidently left he gate open and my dad found Moses downstairs hanging out. Meaning he's been snacking on Ellie's crap Purina chow.

I'm both upset and relieved at the same time.... how is that possible?

That little terdlet Moses has gotten a treat taste test, raining treats, and snacking on Ellie's crunch ever since February hit! This bad track list has got to end! He's probably thinking "Erica started some new routines in January, it's time I do something about it".

What a pooper! I'm over it.

Re: 2/9 Moses PMPS 423 update

"terdlet" I LOVE it.

Problem answered. You need to have a little talk with Moses. ;-)

What a day! Best part is, I know what's going on now, that his numbers shot up b/c Moses got into the other cat's HC food downstairs. Worst part is, I think it makes him hyper! ha!

I think I'll pass on extra testing tonight or my day off tomorrow b/c I know it's bad. I don't think it'll help in the future.

Anyways, I'm going to go snag Moses and drag him to bed, that hyper boy. Goodnight.
