1/3 Sid rough night last night - PMPS 157 +2 57 +3 45 +4 38

I brought Sid home from the emergency vet last night. I checked him and he was 73 so I gave him a meal and then checked him again and he was 157 so I have him 1.25 (he had been getting 1.5). Then I checked him at +2 and he was 57 and it went downhill from there. At 2 am he was 38 and I couldn't get him back up with meals or karo syrup so I panicked and took him back to the emergency vet. He was about 20 (57 on their meter) when we got there. He stayed til 8 am and then he went to his regular vet to spend the day. They tested him every hour and I don't have the numbers - I left them there by accident - but he dropped to 45 at one point. I am going to leave him for the day at the vet every day this week. They are also going to run more blood tests for pancreatitis and whatever else. My vet thinks he has 2-3 other conditions going on but they aren't sure what. While he is at the vet during the day, they are going to test him regularly with my meter so I won't get charged as much. That is nice of them since this ordeal is really quite expensive but I guarantee you all that Sid is not going down without a fight on my part.

Well, I don't know about that. I think I'm pretty lucky to have him. Now I have to get upstairs and test him again and give him his fluids - our first time...

Thank you. I just checked him tonight he was PMPS 471 +1 421 +3 263 so he is coming down. First time getting fluids from me and he was a very good boy. I just hope he comes back out from under the bed!!

Just keep in mind that fluids can lower BG. Some of the people here who give fluids give them after nadir.

Awww Sid I hope you came back out from under the bed to give Lydia some purry cuddles, she deserves them!
