What a crazy morning! Liz got up for her usual morning care after being encouraged by Zener that he was hungry and the pill pocket with his before breffis meds was not sufficient for a hungry kitty. ;-) We love it that his appy is on the upswing and he asks for food! Within minutes of his breffis - scarf and barf! Of course, it still upsetting when he pukes as that was what started off the not eating, syringe feeding, to the vet for ultrasound episode. So, after a minute of post-puke post-traumatic stress (PPPTS), Liz gave him his pepcid with no pill pocket and a little water. Isn't she smart? After about 20 minutes she gave him a small amount of food and all stayed down. He was acting fine, so she gave another small amount and with almost an ounce on board, gave his am shot. All in all, it was only 30 minutes later than our usual time. She had an early meeting so gave me the morning report and had to leave before getting up his condo.

I took over then and all seems good. He is sleeping, stretching, purring and eating. His numbers are starting down a little bit. Looked like last night's cycle was pure flat pink, so perhaps the bounce of yesterday's blue will not be long lasting. I'm off to tbp in about an hour.

@Julie - I missed all the meter turmoil while in Germany and Liz is catching me up. You point out the most important thing and we need to remember this more often than we do - the same kitty.

I'm glad the barf part seems to have been temporary.

Yup, today is the 25th. Traveling will do that to you!

Good to hear Z is keeping his fuds down now, we definitely don't want a repeat of that episode! And Anne, I haven't been around much the last couple days so I don't think I've said it, but welcome home!!!

Zener must still be feeling the excitement of having Anne home again. Sometimes we all eat too fast when we're having fun! Glad to hear that the scarf 'n barf was only temporary.

I actually checked my calendar thinking I had lost a day of the week or something!!!

I'm glad Zener seems better. Nothing worse than a kitty who's "off" and can't tell you what's what!!!

Good grief - I am trying to enjoy my state of pleasant confusion. Maybe I am suffering from more than just jet lag? I noticed tonight my calendar I got in Germany starts with Monday and not Sunday, thus I have found a reason for my confusion, so I feel better. :lol:

Looks like a yellow cycle bookended by pink in this bounce off yesterday's blue. Not bad really considering Zener's amazing bouncy history. Still not quite up to his insulin dose prior to his not eating and syringe feeding episode, so will continue to watch his numbers and gradually increase as indicated. We had a blue yesterday morning with this dose, so will give time for this bounce to clear and see where we are. Patience pants in place. Those patience pants are a lot easier to wear when he is feeling so much better.

After his AM scarf and barf, his appy has been pretty good today and he has been asking for fuds and in the CPC with his mini meals. About time to test and feed again and I hear him asking for food!

@Linda - thanks for your advice to Zener on his eating, enjoy every bite - love it! :lol:

@Melissa - oh lordy, who knows what time I'm on! At least now I can blame it on the calendar. :lol: Zener's numbers are starting to gradually come down - wahoo!

While I was languishing on the couch feeling like a twice stuffed jalapeno...
Smudge helped herself to a pasta belly stuffing as well.
She clambered up on the couch beside me...
We were the Scarf But No Barf pair for the rest of the night. :lol:

Sorry to be so late in visiting. but.. WOW: quite the start for you guys this morning. Well handled too, and only 30 minutes late, which at times can = nothing.

Good luck too with the dosecrease, when you cam go forward with that. Sure was nice to see the blues yesterday. Well done Zener.
