@ Sienne - yes, that is a beautiful rainbow kitty, just like our Zener yesterday!

Well darn, it sure is acting like a fur shot, so we will be glad when this cycle is behind us. Zener's appy isn't the best this morning, but he is out on yard patrol! I am off to the people vet shortly.

Thinking of all our beans and kitties who are not feeling well this morning and sending lots of healing energy. :YMHUG:

Re: 1/30 Zener AMPS 418;+1 465;~3 483 Fur shot

bummer on the fur shot.. and the reds... and the bounce. But what a great day yesterday.  I hope too that Zener recovers from this morning quickly - think down Zener! It is good to read that he is out on patrol - a kitty has got to make sure the perimeter is secure. :-D

Good luck at the people vet - I hope you will begin to feel better soon.

Re: 1/30 Zener AMPS 418;+1 465;~3 483 Fur shot

Oh those ugly bounces! And to be compounded by a fur shot! But bounces end and fur shots are survived. Did you tie a string to him so he doesn't float away?

I hope you get to feeling better soon.

Re: 1/30 Zener AMPS 418;+1 465;~3 483 Fur shot

Unfortunately, fur shots happen. Just hang in there, and it'll pass soon. Hoping for some lower #s for you both soon, and wishing for you to make a full and speedy recovery.

We had that yesterday and, yes, furshots clear. Sorry on the low appy this morning. Have you considered raw for Zenner. Ann (& Maggie) and we have both been trying Nature's Variety Instincts Raw. I've only tried the Organic Chicken, but Tess just slurps the whole thing down, other things I usually have to entice her back w/ sprinkles. It is also the highest calorie food I've seen, (65/oz., that's twice what FF has!), so you don't need to get them to eat quite as much. Libby uses it too, it's also a lower phosphorus food.

Re: 1/30 Zener AMPS 418;+1 465;~3 483 Fur shot

Hi guys .. yeah, bummer on the bounce and fur shot and high numbers .. but those numbers .. they are something to smile about! I hope zener's appy comes back, I hope you get meds to make you feel better and I hope you all have a great day!

Re: 1/30 Zener AMPS 418;+1 465;~3 483 Fur shot

Re: 1/30 Zener AMPS 418;+1 465;~3 483 Fur shot

Hi Anne, sorry on the fur shot. I just did one last week, so it happens. Zener will recover. Yes, as Ann & Tess mentioned, the NC raw chicken is a hit with Maggie. She would eat the whole medallion in one clip, but for starters I just give a little. Good luck at the People Vet, and feel better Anne.

Re: 1/30 Zener AMPS 418;+1 465;~3 483 Fur shot

Hoping everyone starts feeling better in your end of the world.

Ouch on those reds.

So sorry about the fur shot. They happen. It's behind you now. Only looking forward. Hope he comes down soon. Nice that he made sure that the yard was safe. What a good boy Zener!

Hope your people vet visit went well!! Have a great night Anne & Liz!

PMPS 384, 1st cycle @ 1.5u (after AM fur shot), 1/4oz 8%

After the fur shot this morning, the cycle was not as bad as it could have been, flat red sliding into pink by PMPS. The big guy had an increase in drinking and peeing, not unexpected with those numbers, but managed several hours outside in his back yard sitting and lounging in the sun. His appy started off a bit slow and then picked up to about his normal food amount in the AM cycle. We weighed his yesterday, and he had lost a couple of ounces post-not eating syringe feeding. We had expected more, so that was encouraging.

My trip to the human vetty was uneventful. If I hadn't already been sick, I would sure be by now after sitting in a waiting room for an hour with a bunch of college kids with the exact same symptoms. The campus urgent care clinic is often the best place to go after acquiring something from students, they are up on the most current bugs! Diagnosis - the NAU (that's northern arizona university) post-christmas break cold. I got a nice little note from the doc saying a couple more days off work, which is good since I've lost my voice - could be one of my best ever lectures!  And to carrying on with lots of rest, fluids, mucinex, tylenol, vaporizer, and bad tv (well, not really the last one). ;-) The kitties are delighted with my prescription to be home. And I am falling further behind by the day, after missing the first week of classes in Germany.

@Michelle & Mannie - thanks for reminding us about the fab day yesterday! Zener did a great job on perimeter patrol. And, most exciting, there was a cat in his backyard this evening and Zener dashed across the back yard to defend his domain!
bcatrun_gif

@Linda - isn't that a real bummer - bounce + fur shot! I laughed so hard about tying a string to him so he doesn't float away that I blew some disgusting material out of my nose.

@Angela - hanging in there and you are so right about the fur shots passing, must remember that! ;-)

@Ann & Tess - what a great picture! We did try the raw diet early in Zener's transition from dry kibble and he was not interested. Things are a bit different now, so it might be worth another try. It is very hard to get enough calories in him of something he will eat!

@Devon - ah yes, nice numbers to bounce off of, good to remember! And no good meds for me, just virus, so staying with mucinex and tylenol for now. And heaps of herbal tea.

@Roni - Zener is eating better since the morning. And his numbers are slowly sliding down. We got a good shot this evening!

@Ann & Maggie - we will have to try the NC raw chicken again and see if Mr Z will eat it. If not, the Queen of Everything, may. She LOVES chicken but I don't know if she has ever had any raw.

@Serryn - thanks for the good wishes from down under, lots of sick students in my end of the world, and they love to share.

@Celi - wow, that kitty looks like Zener! And he is coming down a little! :-D

@Melissa & Mr T - yes, thank goodness, fur shot cycle behind us! He is such a good boy patrolling his backyard. cat_pet_icon

Hope everyone has a good evening in LL! I am off to consume large amounts of warm liquids and get up all night to pee! So much for the lots of rest orders.

Re: 1/30 Zener PMPS 384

Sorry 'bout the bounce and fur shot. But yes, both are history now - work that juice tonight, Zener!
