Uh oh. This +1 of 433 is what always stumps me. Can't carb a number like this. I don't even know if its a food spike or possible fur shot.
Knowing him, he'll probably drop 200 points to +2 :YMSIGH:

Had lots of lc snacks. He is very thin, and if he will eat, I give it, up until +10

New thought. If the lev causes a later onset, and he has more food aboard, before AM shot, would it help if I got up and fed a few hours before morning shot, while using Lantus?

To try to stop these horribe +11 or so, bounces, I mean.
How much time before?

I always wondered why he never drops low at PM cycle. Duh....it's the many snacks during day??

No answers from me. But it looks like Checkers may have created his own solution to diving. First soar, then the dive doesn't cause a crash landing. Smart kitty!

I'm considering it Tracy. I need to find a way to bring Checkers' onset later, in the AM cycle.
He drops at +3, then starts back up again.
I need to do it with food right now, because I have a fairly new box of pens.
I'm just not sure how.
 
Hi Barb

I'm afraid that if you feed him early in the morning but no later than +10, then you'd increase his PS. You don't want to feed between +10 and +12 because you don't want to shoot a food influenced number. Since he likes to drop so early, he doesn't give you much time to front load him.

I'm not really sure how to push his onset to later in the cycle with lantus. The way to smooth out the bounce is to flatten the curve by controlling the drops and how low he goes but I know you know this and saying it and being able to do it are two different things :-D

Lev has made a huge difference for Gracie. She used to have those huge drops and crazy almost V-shaped curves on lantus. Lev has really flattened her out although it has taken time and you still have to work with food. The other thing about lev is who knows if Checks will be "typical" or not. Tess has a nice lev curve but Gracie usually nadirs at +14 or so and onsets at +6 or so.
