Well, like I said, yesterday was a doozy with my hubby. He does very well at taking care of himself but has brittle diabetes so "things happen". Two weeks ago you might remember our 911 episode. The worst he has been through. Well, today he topped it. We really don't know what is going on with him for this to happen twice so closely. And it happens soooo faaast! Time to get into the doc.

Anyhow, I had Monday & Tues off so of course took advantage of sleeping in. Heard him get up about 7:30 which is pretty normal. I got up about 9 & saw him sitting at his desk so all seemed fine. Jumped in the shower and when I got out he was laid back in his chair "snoring" & I saw the juice on the counter so figured he was sleeping off a low bg which is normal for him. So I very quietly got my coffee so as to not disturb him. Something loud happened and he didn't budge so I thought, hmmm...maybe better wake him just in case. That's when it hit. I went over to wake him and lifted his head and he was totally unresponsive. NEVER done that before in all 33 years we have been married. Didn't even look at me. He was soaking wet. Checked and he was 30. Went in the other room to get the phone and called 911. Then I heard a huge curthump and found him on the floor. He had fallen out of his chair. As the lady coached me through it we realized he wasn't actually snoring, he was in very labored breathing, actually barely getting any breath in at all. She told me to do CPR (just the breathing). No response. His airways were blocked by his tongue so barely any air was getting in. She then told me to lift his shirt to see if his chest was going up and down like normal breathing. No. Just a few convulsions as he tried to get a breath. Started pumping his chest and continued till medics arrived. They gave him oxygen and stuck him with all kinds of other stuff. Even after he "came to" he took an extremely long time to "come around" and think straight. Waaaay longer than he has ever taken. He was awake but couldn't tell us what day or month it was. Anyhow, we got him through it but needless to say it was the most horrible thing I have been through. The worst part was that I WOULD NORMALLY HAVE BEEN AT WORK!! He would have laid on the floor and died. OMG. Can't think about it.

So, thanks for letting me share here. We are going to get to the bottom of this. WHY is it happening? Will update as we get answers. Again, thanks for your support and your happy green thoughts for Sammy!!

Hi guys .. wow, I can't imagine having to go through that .. I'm sure it was scary, it was scary just reading it from here at my house! I'm glad all things worked out, that you were home, and that you were able to work on him till medics arrived .. but wow .. just so scary how fast that happens .. I hope you guys figure out why this is happening ... :YMHUG:
