Yesterday's Condo

I'm not sure which of my very thoughtful kitties left me a present. Coffee cup in hand, my right foot found a hairball in the middle of the hall rug. I do so enjoy finding presents that way and also appreciate having to do clean up before my coffee. Oh well, it's probably better than having to deal with diapers.

LOL on the dealing w/diapers! I certainly second that emotion wholeheartedly!

Let's see some more of those pretty blues & greens today Gabby.

For some reason, there was a shortage of bupe. I thought it was resolved. Some vets don't like to send you home with it because it's an opiate.

FWIW, you can ask your vet about whether he'd give a shot of clindamycin.

I'm glad the dental is over. It doesn't sound like Vyktor's having too much trouble eating which is a good thing. Gabby had 5 extractions her last dental. She was back to herself in about 2 days.

Bupe is a class A or schedule A (I forget what he said) drug here so they're not allowed to let it leave their hands, apparently they need to account for every drop. It's only thanks to your advice to ask about it that that he got it at all, they usually use tramadol.

Your advice for this has been absolutely invaluable and I cannot thank you enough. I was still really nervous but knowing I had dotted all my i's and crossed all my t's definitely made it a little easier and I'm sure resulted in a better outcome for Vyktor.

I meant to ask about clindamycin this morning when I dropped him off but Vyktor was going ballistic and I was about to cry (I am so not a cryer - except when it comes to my creatures then I am a giant sook!) so I forgot. I will ask tomorrow but I'm wondering whether we have that here because we discussed several different alternatives for antibiotics and he didn't mention that one at all.

Vyktor has eaten almost 9 ounces of food in the 6 hours since he got home, I think he's trying to make up for what he missed out on last night and today :-D

No competition on the hairballs v diapers. I've never changed a diaper but even the thought makes me want to vomit, hairballs I can deal with. Although underfoot first thing in the morning is more than a little ewww. I'm betting it was Gizmo, Gabby's far too ladylike for such things!

Looks like it'ss be a nice sunny, no drama day for Gabby. All the drama was under foot for the bean.

Hi Sienne,
Doesn't the noise element of the "hairball hack" wake you up? You must be a sound sleeper!

Have a fine weekend,

Ella & Rusty

Oh the "hairball hack" wakes the dead in my house and we all run around like chickens. It was very nice of Gabby or Gizmo to not wake you and just let your toes find it on their own.

Have a great day Sienne!

Re: 2/24 Gabby AMPS~287, +2~258

Usually the hairball or any other sound effect associated with Gabby yacking coming up wakes me out of a sound sleep. Gabby is more the puker than Gizmo, despite his long hair. The one time I saw him puke, he looked very surprised at himself! I'm wondering if the deposit was made while I was in the shower this morning.

Re: 2/24 Gabby AMPS~287, +2~258

Never thought I'd say it...gimme a hairball any day! We have hardwoods everywhere here, so if I blindly step on a hairball, I slide. Lovely. One time, I was carrying 6 ceramic food dishes when my foot found one...I slid into a piece of furniture, then bounced and landed on the floor. I ended up with a big bruise on my hip...but I held on to those food dishes and didn't lose even one!

I hope Gabby has come down a bit by now...have a great evening!

Uh, was it still warm? :? Gabby, we want to see some better numbers than these, hairball or not.

Just like they say with diapers, it's not as bad when it's your own child (cat)

It is true, though. I don't mind changing my own babies, but in the church nursery I truly dread a dirty diaper on someone else's kid. . .precious and adorable though they may be!!

Have a great night, Gabs!

Hope you and Gabby and Gizmo are having a good evening and do not experience any more puke episodes! I did change many diapers (my daughter's who is going to be 21 in about a month) but I much prefer cat puke cleanup but not stepping in it :-D And not Sid's - I don't want him puking

I remember when my civvie Frisco (GA) used to vomit, he would howl like he was in extreme distress and get all the other cats worked up, puke, and then calmly walk away as if nothing had happened.
