Hm, exciting, brief dip into the blue yesterday, but he dove pretty fast. Am assuming this nasty return to red will be shortlived and is just a bounce or possibly NDW. Himself is 'BEBT' again today. cleaned his plate (Ocean Breeze todady - stuff stinks but they love it, with enzymes and lysine). Clear eyes. active, glossy coat. seems unphased by that high high number. I wonder.... if they are high like that because their own bodies have done it deliberately.. if it doesn't bother them as much as if it was due to too much sugar and no insulin.. if you get my idea? Like, if it's the body protecting itself then it somehow is more 'natural' and maybe they don't seem as bothered? I know before he was diagnosed he obviously felt icky, and when he had the run of black and red due to either the tooth pain or bogus insulin, he really looked sad and uncomfortable. But lately, even when he spikes a high number, he seems to be not that phased by it. Interesting. don't mind me, just musing!

Hoping for more fun stuff from Mr. Rupert today. I have my riding lesson at 1:45, finish up the rest of the clinic for everyone, coach on the ferry back to the mainland by 5pm and then .. hopefully (unless Rupie has other plans) out for dinner tonight - it's our 23rd wedding anniversary!

Hi Pip. Funny you should say that about the high number. I've often wondered that myself. Checkers doesn't seem fazed at all, with rebound highs.
I can't tell if there is a difference, when his number is high because of AB etc, 'cause he already doesn't feel well at that time.

Hoping Rupert comes down soon again. He had some lovely blues yesterday.

+3 and down to pink, a slower drop than yesterday. Hopefully he's both clearing the bounce AND sliding down slow enough not to cause panic! Glorious weather here today, going to go play in the garden for a bit!

and, the four kitties of the apocalypse..... missing one ! (Polly). We have from left to right.. Oliver, Bumley, Sophie and Rupert. Oliver is the new stray that moved in in January. Seems to have settled in nicely. Sophie is Rupert's full sister, same litter. Bumley is a year older, same mom, possibly same dad.

yes, the remotes are multiplying! much like the kitties! Rupert has the primo spot and they all line up behind him hoping he'll give it up! soon as he leaves one of the others steals it! Right now Sophie is there because Rupert is outside running around helping us in the garden! he's having a great day, suspect we'll see a nice number at +6.. shortly... IF I can catch him! if he's having fun outside I'll just wait! Hope you are having a good day today too!

+6, hanging on to the pink...370. hm.. surprised me, given how perky and active he is I was expecting a yellow number! oh well. maybe this bounce is taking a bit longer to clear....hopefully he doesn't go up too much from this point. Also discovered, once again due to my stupidity, that the Ocean breeze (and I KNEW this from last time) is 8% carbs vs the Surf N Turf only 3%... I always get my oceans and my surf mixed up! grrr. so will switch the rest of the flat for Surf N Turf tomorrow when I go in. Doubt that's enough to really make him stay pink.. I think this is a bit of a bounce......or NDW. We are going out for anniversary dinner tonight.... whats the betting he throws us a curve ball right at PMPS??? Unlikely methinks. +6 is usually his lowest number of the day, he's never come DOWN from his +6 to PMPS (except right in the very early days when things were all wonky)....sigh. Hopefully tomorrow he'll hit the yellows again (or maybe this evening).

back out to the garden now!

I imagine he feels better from getting that painful tooth removed. That seems to have helped his eyes too? Great WCR for all of your kitties. Very cute pictures! And Happy Annifursary to you and DH!

Rupert Bond is just too adorable - all your kitties are. What a lovely furry family you have.

I think that part of the reason they don't feel so bad on a bounce as they do when they are just in high numbers is because it's not constant, they bounce up but they come down again in a few days rather than stay there for weeks on end - just a theory.

sigh, PMPS 455. if nothing else he's consistent today! and a sort of a bit of a curve! He sure looks good though. had a fun day in the garden supervising, chasing bits of string, stalking Polly and generally being a cat. He's preening on the windowsill behind his couch at the moment.. only because Bumley has usurped the 'primo' spot and has her back to him with her eyes tightly shut.. I don't think she wants to give up the spot. He may have to settle for the lower levels of the couch tonight! Maybe the lower levels of the couch will encourage him to visit the lower levels in his BG?! I'm hoping he surfs a little lower tonight.

better go pick the hay out of my hair and try to look decent for dinner tonight!

PMPS +4 and back to 358...... hm, sure hoping he dips a little lower over night. Am thinking we are going to see a pink number tomorrow morning.. grrr. He seems happy though. had a great day outside.

Tomorrow is a new week. hoping for some yellows and blues sometime soon again and that this bounce.. if it's a bounce, clears soon.
