Woohoo! Looks like an overnight blue surf. :-D Sure beats those morning pinks we've been seeing. App is good, he's checked out the backyard. Poo patrol was shockingly lax this morning.

I warm up Zener's ear by cupping my hand and blowing warm air. I tried the heated rice in a sock and Binks's white trash wet wash cloth in a plastic bag method but he didn't like that much. He gets lots of petting and scritches and usually purrs. Sometimes he even purrs through the poke! Months ago, I read about other cats doing that and I couldn't imagine that Zener would ever purr then. I guess we're making progress. :-D

Thinking of Big Mac and CD, Katie, Rosalie, and others who are ailing and sad. Congrats to Elie - OTJ! Happy Caturday LL!

Re: 3/31 Zener AMPS 150;+1 185

Good morning, Z-man crew!! Zener is looking lovely in blues today! Fingers and paws crossed that a bounce is averted!! It always amazes me how our cats really do seem to embrace our schedules. Willie usually purrs through his poke, but only after making me work for it by chasing him down to get it!!   Enjoy your weekend!!

Poo patrol was shockingly lax this morning.

Liz, I always look forward to and get a good laugh at Zener's poo reports, if he only knew!
Very nice blues today for Zener and great with surfing blue the night, too. Have a great day.

There seems to be a color scheme for the Party tonight, blues and greens are the thing to wear. i just hold and stroke Tess's ear now too. Usually no problem if my hands are warm!

@Christie - we have it all crossed for no bounce, time will tell. Loved your video in Willie's condo. We have that same discussion with Zener after dark every evening. ;-)

@Ann & Maggie - the poo patrol had the morning off, so Inspector Poo had no work to do. But Inspector Poo is never daunted and found her prey while pulling up dandelions this afternoon - success!

@Pip - we are enjoying a rare blue and flat couple of cycles while it lasts!

@julie - yes, it is amazing to see Zener flat! :thumbup

@Ann & Tess - our fav colors too! So nice that stroking the ears of the queen with warm hands is working well!

@Sienne - we have given your request to Zener, we shall see if he provides you with more!

Nice touch of green in the center, Zener. Do again.

Re: 3/31 Zener PMPS 188

Starting in blue, with a lantus dip perhaps?

@Dyana - we shall give Zener your instructions, he minds his LL aunties very well! ;-)

It's been quite a lovely two cycles for the mighty Z - flat blue with a touch of green and then a touch of yellow near the end of this AM cycle, though back to blue at PMPS. Today was weigh day and Zener was 12lbs and 1oz, up 1 oz from last week. Appy okay and successful poo patrol, so it's a good day! :-D

Paws crossed drama-rama is at a minimum this evening for all in LL.

Re: 3/31 Zener PMPS 188

Good to see that you're back in the competition Zener that's some might nice surfing you have going on

Hmmmmm, a nice blue start, now where is this yellow coming from? :?

@Serryn - maybe Zener is taking it easy on the beans this cycle. It's Saturday night here so easier to stay up and test and sleep in tomorrow morning, but then Zener doesn't worry too much about bean convenience.

We've been using our vial of insulin since early January, the longest we've gone yet using a vial. At first, we would go a month and replace because that's what we were told by the pharmacy (Walgreens). As we got better educated here at FDMB, we got better at measuring and taking better care to not inject insulin back in the vial and so on, so we've been going longer as we read here was possible. We've used this vial right at three months. We are opening a new one tomorrow morning.

We switched recently to Target pharmacy. This pharmacy gave us a dozen feeding syringes for free back in January when we were syringe feeding Zener. So, when it was time to order new insulin, we switched to Target. Their service has been very good and they seem quite knowledgeable about animals too. The pharmacist was great and said, "the manufacturer tells you it will only last a month, but the amount for a cat is so small, if you take care with the vial you can get months out of it. But, of course, I didn't tell you that" - and then he winked and chuckled! ;-)

Re: 3/31 Zener PMPS 188;+1 280;~2 229

I'm so glad to see a bit of green from Zener

When Sid was on lantus, my vet told me it would last 4-6 months and she didn't say anything about not shooting back into the bottle (good I already knew not to do that).

Sliding back down to blue nice and easy.

~2 229, 0.6oz 9%

@Lydia - we were tickled to see a bit of the green too! We've read and heard from others that lantus can last for as long as 4-6 months. We've been trying to go a bit longer each vial until we feel comfortable that it is still working well. Our previous vet that started Zener on humulin advised us to treat lantus the same way, rolling it and so on. Thank goodness we found FDMB & LL! :YMHUG:

Zener and I are carrying on with a game of tent and watching the NCIS marathon on our DVR, nothing like a Saturday night of kitty cuddles and bad TV!
