Good Morning, Everyone,

20 degrees here this morning under clear skies. We decided to do our paddle in the afternoon instead of the morning!!! Temps in the 20s and even the 30s are too cold for paddling. It's supposed to go up to close to 50 this afternoon. We'll be paddling on Black Pond (maybe the loons will be back, although it is early) and the St. Regis River.

Rusty was raring to go this morning. Galloping up and down the stairs after the "ducks" quacked, trying to hurry us up. Good test, shot, breakfast (combo of Wellness Turkey and By Nature Turkey and Turkey Liver--2 sittings), and now a chillax next to the radiator. He'll enjoy going outside after it warms up a bit. Yesterday was a "rest day" with higher numbers, but he's starting out this morning with a better number and hopefully will spend some time at the green lagoon.

BigMac is in our thoughts and prayers this morning and we hope that he and Carolyn, too, had a restful night. Heal fast BigMac!

Vyktor has stepped back into the blue to collect Rusty for a day/night at the lagoon. I hope they don't dally!

Paddling sounds like a great way to spend the afternoon. I live less than 1 km away from the Swan River that runs through Perth city, I'll bet it's not as pretty as Black Pond though :YMSIGH: Hope you have a wonderful time.

Brrrr. Good idea on switching the paddle to afternoon. It sounds beautiful and I hope you take some pics so we can all see. Have a great time Ella!

Nice blue for Rusty's start of the day, and looks like he's headed to the green lagoon soon. Paddling sounds nice in the 50's. Have a great time today.

It looks like they have changed the ingredients in T&G. There isn't any turkey in it!! And the rest of the ingredients are different, too. Janet & Binky's list says that companies are legally allowed to keep their old can labels for 6 months after they change a food formula. This is all very disturbing!

Ella, thanks and just saw your note in my condo. That is very disturbing on the FF T&G and other flavors! Then we wonder why our cat's bg spikes when we're using the same food, and here the ingredients have changed but same label. Something happened with the Instinct as Maggie's bg's started to spike, and then they came down with the Wellness Turkey.

Hi guys .. nice to see rusty starting out just a wee bit lower today .. hoping he see's some greens before the day is over .. burr, even 50 sounds a little to cold to be out on a paddle .. hope you guys have a great day!

Rusty was very annoyed with Shadow this morning. Shadow was horning in on his outdoor time and his hunting grounds! Maybe this contributed to the 148, unexpected at +5. Maybe it was a fur shot, but I don't think so. Maybe it was the new box of test strips. Maybe, maybe, maybe it's the CAT!

Off to Black Pond. bbl,

So easy to forget that piece, isnt it?

Glad you can push the paddle later. I was hoping it would clear up here so I could get out climbing. No such luck. Off to the gym it will be for me! At least it's not 20 degrees tho. Brrrrr!

I did not realize you had loons there. They are so amazing! One of the best sounds EVER to wake up to!

How's the wind? The 30s could be miserable if it's windy but not too bad if sunny and calm. Rusty, the lagoon is the other way!

Rusty you are heading the wrong way buddy!! I thought Shadow and Rusty were on their way to becoming best friends furever? :lol: Oh Rusty that is no way to treat your friends.

I hope you have a great paddle, it sounds like a perfect day for it! Rusty, behave while your bean is out ok?

HI Ella, after looking at the label and seeing Turkey, Liver, Meat By-Products, as first ingredients, I called Purina.
1-800-933-0991, to ask. She said the ingredients haven't changed, since 2009, and turkey is the first ingredient.
I didn't think to tell her, that it's not on the list they send out. Must be an innocent omission....right? :roll:
I have one of those printouts also, and never noticed that. :roll:

I hope you got your paddle in today. It turned out to be rather pleasant, I found out, after going out in heavy winter jacket, and all the young 'uns are in t-shirts :lol:

Rusty looks good in blue as well as green..he's handsome in any color :-D :-D

Hi Everyone,
Rusty did come down at +9, but then went back up again. I think we are in a "rest" period. If he isn't done "resting" in a couple of days, up goes his dose. I don't want him to lose momentum (he's never yet recovered the good string of cycles he had before we went to NYC).

Paddle was lovely: very cold water (the ice was just out the other day there), but not much wind and there was sunshine. It was the opening day of trout season (we didn't know that), and Black Pond is a special trout-fishing site, so there were quite a few fisherfolk there. However, they weren't catching anything and one told us that the water was too cold. Interesting, because a large fish jumped in front of my boat! No fishermen were in the vicinnity at the time. Yea for the fish!! The loons haven't returned yet (Black Pond has a resident pair), but we did see two Mergansers (fish-eating ducks).

Pat: yup, we're wimps. We only paddled 3 miles today (originally the trip was to have been about 8 miles).

Barb: thanks for the info. on FF T&G. There are more things wrong with the list they sent to Angela: for example "giblets" is missing too, and the list has "meat broth" rather than "turkey broth"; and the list has "chicken" (the can label does not)!
Here is the list of ingredients that the company sent to Angela: "Top 5 ingredients: Liver, meat broth, meat by-products, chicken, artificial and natural flavors"
Here is the list of ingredients on the can: "Turkey, Liver, meat by-products, Turkey broth, Poultry giblets, artificial and natural flavors". Something is wrong here. And, of course, we don't know what kind of "liver" is in the formula: turkey liver? chicken liver? beef liver? cod liver?

Hi guys - sorry to be SO LATE in visiting... I do not know where the day went...

Rusty - you in a rest period? At least yours is blue -Mannie seems to prefer the yellows.... back to the greens Rusty - or... more juice for you!

Your paddle sounds really nice - and sunshine too. I do hope you had a good time.
