Good morning LL!

I am a bad mama bean and overslept by 45 mins this morning. There was a mutiny on my hands without DH. The kitties gave me that slitted glare like "And where have you been? We are starving! Get to work!". Charlie was doing the "gotta pee" dance as he ate breffis. Everyone is happy, full and relaxed again and I have my ~O) IV hooked up.

I have to clean the pool and weed the garden this morning. Girls night out for a Sara Evans concert at Hard Rock Casino tonight with BFF. DH gets babysitting duties tonight.

I did the exact same thing this morning. Overslept and had 2 mad kitties on my hands. I think we should be allowed to do that every once in awhile, right?

Have fun cleaning the pool and weeding. I also have to clean our pool. For some reason, our pool is cloudy and we can't figure out what is going on. Every time I go to the pool place, I am buying more chemicals. Almost as expensive as the vet!

Have a great time at the concert. I am very jeolous!

:shock: on the oversleep! And they let you? Well, now that I think of it Mannie would too. He knows I'll get there eventually. :lol: excellent on the ~O) IV. :lol:

Melissa, too funny with the oversleeping, the nerve of you with the glaring looks from Mr. T, Turnup and Charlie! :lol: How is Charlie's leg today? I thought I set the alarm last night, but it wasn't set after all or in my zombie state I turned it off! :lol: Sounds like good exercise weeding and pool cleaning. How fun with the girls' nite out at the concert. Have a great time.

Melissa, oh but isn't that just the BEST sleep? The neighborhood wakes us - bark, bark, bark, bark while the rooster down the road crows at the top of his lungs. Rooster makes the donkey start hollering which makes the dogs bark more. Nicer than any ole alarm clock tho'. The pool and weeds - THAT sounds like WORK! Work makes sore muscles.... ;-) Your night out sounds wonderful - enjoy it a little extra for me please....

Time to head down Mr T. You can't hold it totally against the bean, you know ways to get her up!

We get the rooster and dog wake ups too, except here it starts at 2AM! This morning at 4AM there was some commotion with all the dogs and what sounded like a whole pack of coyotes. ohmygod_smile

I had to hijack T's condo for Charlue but I know Tarragon doesn't mind.

We are at the vet. I went on poo patrol this morning and all his poo was black black and hard. On top of that, he was not putting any weight on his leg at all. We've been here for an hour. The diagnosis:

His foot is hurt - outer toe - not knee. No open sores. Must have twisted it. That is great news!

Black poop = blood in upper GI. Ultrasound shows ulcers, which must be from the Rimadyl. Switching him to another pain killer that is easier on the tummy and Pepcid AC.

They are now expressing his glands and giving him a mani /pedi.

I am having a hard time sitting here. There was an emergency in the room next to me. A girl in her 20's brought in her kitty. The kitty will probably not make it and she is inconsolable. My heart is breaking for her.
 
WONDERFUL News for Charlie!!!!

Prayers for the girl's kittybaby and for her too....that's why I don't let my DH go to vet's office, he'd be having a paralysis attack from HER stress causing HIM stress. Extra hug for her too....

Oh my goodness poor Charlie! I hope switching the meds will make him feel better, is the rimadyl for his leg?

My heart breaks reading about the girl and her kitty as well, we'll send kitty and Charlie some healing vines.

I hope Tarragon and Turnup have forgiven you for sleeping in, time to come down Tarragon.....ok?

Melissa, I'm so sorry to hear about Charlie, but glad he will be okay. Sending him some vines.
Oh no, how heartbreaking for this girl with the kitty. Is there maybe still a chance kitty will make it?
 
Healing vines for Charlie. I hope the change in meds helps. Poor kitten, white light and healing vines on the way for all there.

Poor Charlie, but glad it's only a toe, not his surgery site that's the problem. What a tough time to be at the vet. Have a fun evening tonight!
 
I'm sorry to hear about the girl and her kitty. I hope there is a chance for the kitty. Sending vines to kitty and her.
I'm glad you know what's going on with Charlie and hope the new medicine helps him out.

The kitty did not make it. I was still sitting there as they told the girl and they put the kitty to sleep while she held it. I bawled right along with her and have never heard such horrible cries ever. Healing vines to the poor girl. We lit a candle for the sweet kitty when we got home.
 
Melissa, I am crying just reading your post about the girl with her kitty. How heartbreaking.

I'm sorry about sweet Charlie but glad to know that it is his foot and not his leg. Hope his tummy is better with the new med.

I'm glad that charlie did not hurt his knee again, and that you can find new meds for him as well .. My heart breaks for that young girl .. Fly Free little one .. may your momma find peace knowing you are at the rainbow bridge ..

I'm glad for the good report on Charlie. Back to fighting with coyotes. :roll:

Glad Charlie is ok, that rimadyl I think hurt my darling Pumpkin (lakeland terrier) 17 yrs ago..
It is sometimes too much for some dogs--Glad he will get new meds--Hugs & Lovr from us!
 
I'm glad to hear that Charlie is getting his mani/pedi. And sorry about the effects of the NSAID. You were clearly on top of any problem.

It's always heartbreaking when someone loses a companion they care deeply about.

Awww, poor Charlie. I hope his tummy and his foot get better soon. I didn't know Rimadyl can cause ulcers. Good that he'll get new meds.
Melissa, it must have been terrible for you to hear that poor girl's anguish. I'm sorry.
 
So glad Charlie will be ok, and hope you find the best pain med. for him.
Very heartbreaking for that poor young girl and her kitty, I would be crying my eyes out with her too.

Charlie is a trooper. Sending him healing vines--lots of healing vines for a fine dog.

We are so sorry to hear about the young woman and her sick kitty. We wish the little one safe passage to the Bridge. He will be well cared for there by our compassionate GAs.

Enjoy your evening out. Tarragon and Turnup will watch Charlie and make sure he doesn't re-injure himself.

I'm glad to hear Charlie will be OK, but so sad to hear about the kitty. A number of years ago, I was at the vet with something similar going on...never forgot it :cry: . Fortunately, this sweet kitty was obvioulsy very loved here, and always will be...
 
that poor girl, how heartbreaking. that must've been so difficult for you and everyone.

glad you got charlie's issues figured out. he's like a cat with 9 lives! go charlie go! :-D
