Hello LL! I am home from London, great trip and glad to be home. All is well here this morning. Liz did such a great job as BIC, and is off for a well deserved massage, so I'm putting up the morning condo.

Yesterday's condo

Today
4/21/12 Zener
AMPS 379, AMPS 2/3PP, 1/8 zantac, 1/4 ondansetron, 1.4oz 10%, 1/16t miralax, sprinkle sisu GI enzymes
+1.5 317, 0.5oz 10%, 7 drops kidney liq
+3 287, 0.65oz 10%
+5 275,0.55oz 10%

Zener is having a pink start to the morning and flat yellow mid-cycle. He has had a cycle like this every 3 days for a bit. Liz noticed he was having some trouble walking, or more accurately, getting started and we've seen this before when his anal glands need "expressing". So, we have a vetty visit for 4 this afternoon to get that checked. All in all, he is having a good morning with thorough yard patrol and picnics.

We are starting to think a little about a possible dose fattening by a drop later this week to see if we can nudge his numbers down overall just a bit. We were reluctant to do so today until we see if his anal glands are full and the start of our week will be a bit crazy. Any thoughts on dose are appreciated!

@Michelle & Mannie - thanks for the welcome home wishes! Full on picnic weather today!

Once I have a few pics of the Olympic/Paralympic Park in London, I'll post to loose lips, so you can see where I was. Thanks to all in LL for keeping Liz company and a helpful eye on Zener while I was away. :YMHUG:

Welcome home Anne! You were missed and Liz did a great job. I bet Zener and civvie are glad to see you. Good luck at the Vetty today and all goes well. Sending some good Vetty vines. Have a nice day. Is the jet lag very bad?

Hi Anne, Welcome home and glad to hear all went well overseas. I hope Zener's vetty visit goes well. Enjoy your Catruday at home :-D And say Hi to Liz for me!

Re: 10/21 Zener AMPS 379;+1.5 317;+3 287;+5 275

Welcome home and congrats on the successful Paralympics. I hope the vetty visit takes care of the walking difficulty and all is well.

Re: 10/21 Zener AMPS 379;+1.5 317;+3 287;+5 275

Welcome home, Anne! Liz did a fabulous job, as always. Good luck at the vet...I'm not sure Zener would be too thrilled that you are talking about his anal glands! Quite embarassing! Hope he is feeling better after the visit.

Re: 10/21 Zener PMPS 207 vetty visit

Zener's had a pinky yellow cycle today with a slow slide into PMPS. He had a good vetty visit, if such a thing is possible. ;-) Both anal glands were full and needed to be expressed. One was inflamed and our vet had to give it several tries but finally success. Zener's face showed complete relief at that moment, so we are pretty sure that was causing him some pain and his wobbles when trying to start walking. We go back in 2 weeks to make sure all is okay and the inflammation resolves after being expressed.

Our vet asked us if she could give our email address to a client with a newly diagnosed kitty. The client is a little reluctant to do home testing and our vet thought we would be a good resource. We were glad to offer our assistance as so many have done for us here. Our vet is now giving out the FMDB website to her clients with FD, said she was so impressed with the SS we maintain on Zener and wanted to share the good info with her patients. :-D

Today
4/21/12 Zener
AMPS 379, 24th cycle @1.25u, 2/3PP, 1/8 zantac, 1/4 ondansetron, 1.4oz 10%, 1/16t miralax, sprinkle sisu GI enzymes
+1.5 317, 0.5oz 10%, 7 drops kidney liq
+3 287, 0.65oz 10%
+5 275,0.55oz 10%
~7 248, 0.55oz 10%
+8 0.5oz 5%
+10.5 Vet visit for anal gland expression
PMPS 207, 25cycle @1.25u, 2/3PP, 1/8 zantac, 1/4 ondansetron, 1.3oz 10%, 1/16t miralax

@Ann & Maggie - thanks for the kind words. Zener and Tillie were both very glad to see me and vice versa! Jet lag is miserable and no matter how often I've traveled, I suffer from it. My body adjusts about an hour per day, so I was not quite on London time. I should be good as new by mid-week.

@Jac - so great to "hear" from you on our condo! All went well and good to be home! Liz says hi back at ya! :YMHUG:

@Ann & Tess - the vet was right on those anal glands, and he is walking better already! The test event for the Paralympics went well. The actual games open Aug 29, following the closing of the Olympics by a week or so. I'll be there for two weeks then. :-D

@Georgia - Liz was super wasn't she? Zener is okay about us talking about his glands, he is a trooper with it all!

It will take me a few days to get caught up on everything going on in LL, so much can happen in a week! Hope everyone is having a good Caturday!

Re: 10/21 Zener PMPS 207 vetty visit

Welcome home, Anne! I know that your family is very happy to have you back. Glad to hear that the source of Zener's discomfort has been taken care of. Wishing you all a great remainder of the weekend.

The Paralympic games sound like they will be a great success.
And congrats on being FD "consultants" for your vet. Good going there!

Re: 10/21 Zener PMPS 207 vetty visit

Welcome home, Anne! Good to have you back. Liz is a wonderful BIC.

I suspect that you may see a drop in Zener's numbers now that he's feeling more comfortable. I also wonder if the inflammation was causing some higher numbers.

Re: 10/21 Zener PMPS 207;+1.5 159 vetty visit

Woo hoo, Zener's blue!

4/21/12 Zener
AMPS 379, 24th cycle @1.25u, 2/3PP, 1/8 zantac, 1/4 ondansetron, 1.4oz 10%, 1/16t miralax, sprinkle sisu GI enzymes

+10.5 Vet visit for anal gland expression
PMPS 207, 25cycle @1.25u, 2/3PP, 1/8 zantac, 1/4 ondansetron, 1.3oz 10%, 1/16t miralax
+1.5 159, 0.5oz 105 & 1 drop karo

A large drop for the big guy at +1 so we added a bit of karo to see if we can slow the express train and prevent a bounce off the big drop, time will tell!

@Ella - thank you for your very kind words, the whole family is glad I am home! We were pleased our vet has converted to sharing FDMB with her patients.

@Sienne - thanks for the welcome home wishes. Liz did such a great job as BIC! ;-) We were wondering too if the inflamed anal gland may have been having an effect on his BG numbers. The vet was a little concerned when she couldn't express the one gland right away and told us that the typical treatment for an inflamed anal gland is not good for kitties with FD. She let me have a good look at things before her 3rd and successful try and the entire area looked red. He is already walking better tonight, back to his normal. And feeling much better all around, plus he's dropping at +1.

Re: 10/21 Zener PMPS 207;+1.5 159;+2.5 113;+3 89 vetty visit

Hi All! - sorry for the late visit. nice PM cycle Numbers - Zener - you made green! WOO HOO!

Hope fully with the anal gland issue resolved Zener will feel better. I have to take Elsa in about every three months for the same thing - she was impacted several months ago, so we repeat the trip to make sure all is OK.

How cool is that that your vet refers clients, with new FD kitties, here. YAY!!

Re: 10/21 Zener PMPS 207;+1.5 159;+2.5 113;+3 89;+4 84 vet

Re: 10/21 Zener PMPS 207;+1.5 159;+2.5 113;+3 89;+4 84;+5 10

Looks like the drop has stopped.
PMPS 207, 25cycle @1.25u, 2/3PP, 1/8 zantac, 1/4 ondansetron, 1.3oz 10%, 1/16t miralax
+1.5 159, 0.5oz 105 & 1 drop karo
+2.5 113, 1PP & 3 mg Zobaline, 0.5oz 10%, 1 drop karo
+3 89, 1 treat, 0.55oz 10%, 1 drop karo
~4 84, 0.5oz 10%
+5 102, 0.7oz 10%

@Michelle & Mannie - you can visit anytime! We are on MST in AZ, same as PDT now. One of his glands was impacted too, but the vet managed to get the plug out and he felt immediate relief, and was green tonight despite the vet visit. Must have really been bothering the poor guy. We probably need to go about every 3 months too. We go back in two weeks to make sure this took care of the inflammation.

@julie - thanks for the welcome home. Zener was such a trooper even after the vet had to make several attempts. He is MUCH happier tonight and his numbers are showing it!

I'll get a mid-cycle check just to make sure the carbs are wearing off and then bedtime. Hope all are having sweet dreams in LL! I-)
