Hi everyone!

Orange's numbers are looking pretty wonderful to me. Looking back at his spreadsheet we've made a ton of progress the past 2 weeks. Does this mean I can officially declare him "regulated"?

Just wanted to take a minute and say that I am so grateful to all you wonderful people who have helped us get to this point and for all the continuted support I'm sure we'll recieve in the future.

You guys are the best!

Nice numbers today Orange! I've never been clear on what makes a kitty "regulated" so I will be interested to hear what others say. Hope you have a great day!

+4 = 54

I'm not home today, but DH reports that Orange is eating the rest of his breakfast now. I'm thinking that should get him surfing :)

Your SS looks really really good to me!!! FD cats can have beautiful numbers for a time, some get even better & go OTJ, some become regulated & stay here, nothing happens quickly though--Go Slow, take your time, and do the sugar dance..You are doing a Great Job! Orange is doing so well--Let's see what the next few days bring-OK?
Hugs to you from us!
BTW feed that 54 to keep Orange surfing!!

Hi Julie and Orange,
I think that "being regulated" is one of those ECID things. It is nice with the aid of insulin to be able to stay within the bg range of a non-diabetic cat (between 50 and 125 or so). And I guess we could call that being "super regulated". Everyone's primary goal, of course, is to spend the greatest amount of time as possible below the renal threshold--the point at which glucose is spilled into the urine (somewhere between 180 and 270, but ECID). Some cats will always bounce, but if the bouncing can be controlled and a lot of time is spent in lower numbers, those cats are "regulated".

Not much help, I'm afraid. Orange looks terrific today.

Enjoy the weekend,

Ella & Rusty
