Well, tenacious I am:

Beth,

Thank you for the email.

The nutritional levels posted on our website are derived from both a USDA database analysis and chemical analysis of our products.

The Feline Formulas are developed as high protein/low carbohydrate diets specifically for the nutritional needs of Felines.

The Feline Rabbit diet does contain squash, blueberries and cranberries as the primary sources of carbohydrates in this particular diet. These ingredients may be causing the spike in your cats blood glucose levels.

Although the canned diet you refer to is 8-10% carbohydrates, you must take into consideration what sources provide the carbohydrates in the diet and the glucose content of these specific ingredients.

Please let me know if I can be of any further assistance.

Best Regards,

Matt

Are those foods he listed...spikey carbs? I have to go find that study I posted over in the think tank, but I don't think these foods were part of the carb. study. Two fruits would be spikey, right? I don't know about the squash? And if it supposed to only be 1% carb.... grr_red?

Ugh!!!! I hate trying to understand nutrition and now, now how to get the old NV Rabbit consistently?

There are obviously things other than chicken in Wellness. At one point, I read a comment on Dr. Lisa's website about canned foods such as Wellness. She made the point that there can't be very much of the veggies and fruits if the carb level is that low.

That is SO not what I expected this condo to be about!

That is what I THOUGHT, but what about in a RAW diet? The squash #3 and blueberries and cranberries are #4 and #5.

Verses in the Nature's Variety...#8 and #21?

Edit: That is why I wrote them about their claim of 1% carbs. with Attie's wonky numbers.

Well anyway I can't get the NV Rabbit and I did check my email, I started to question this way back in Feb. when I inquired with NV as to when the rabbit would be available. Ugh!!!

So I did find Hare Today and I can order the ground rabbit by the pound, but I need to add supplements to make it feline fine and healthy. I also am looking at Feline's Pride, which will work out to be nearly $100 per month... I don't even spend that much on my own food. :-|

My guys liked the Feline's Pride. The cost on the food wasn't too bad. The shipping was a fortune! I started making my own but the pre-mix I was using is no longer available.
