Today starting off a little better than yesterday. The Cerenia tablets seem to be working as well as the injections and we are grateful for that. Zener acted like he didn't want to eat at AMPS, so Liz fed him a sliver of cypro (appy stimulant) and 10 minutes later he started eating, so it wasn't the cypro. Oh well... He is napping comfortably in the sun.

@Ann & Tess - we are glad the cerenia pills are absorbing well, so maybe shots won't be necessary! Thanks for encouraging the big guy with his fuds. Maybe he will listen to Tess best!

@Barb - Zener is very pleased to read "handsome" in his condo. ;-)

Perhaps another rainbow kitty slide in the making? Time will tell.

So glad the pills are working for Zener and his appy improved, too. Sending good Vettty vines for sweet Zener this afternoon and also good dental vines for Tillie. Nice on the sunbath, too.

We are home from the vet for today. Zener's numbers haven't suffered from the trials and tribulations.

Nothing extraordinary to report from the vet visit. Our vet is great, she said "what do think is going on?" Today he had no tenderness to palpation in his belly and he was quite happy to let her poke and prod with no hisses or growls. No fever or other obvious signs of illness. We asked about the cobalamine injections (B12) and she said that was often used for IBD. She wanted to review his records first though and told us when they took blood and sent the test panel to Texas A & M two months ago, one of the things tested for was cobalamine and it was normal levels. So, she didn't think it would be useful at this point to do the injections.

She still suspects he may have a very mild form of IBD because of the flares and then his appy improves with cerenia. She took blood and urine, checking for UTI and kidney values just in case it is something other than his FD. They had a little trouble with getting blood and thought he might be a tad dehydrated so he got some subQ fluids. I seem to remember reading here that numbers can drop from that, so we are on the lookout tonight. We asked what could cause him to be dehydrated, and other than his poor eating lately, she wants to see his blood work. So, they will run tests with most results to us tomorrow, so we wait.

@Ann & Maggie - thanks for the vetty vines!

He ate okay at PMPS, seems a little tired from all the poking at the vet, but otherwise glad to be home. :-D
