Good Saturday morning, everyone,

Rusty had a good night. He ate all his nighttime food and slept between his beans. It was cold last night (in the 40s) and is in the low 50s with rain this morning--a good morning to nap next to the radiator, and that is exactly what Rusty is doing (I can't believe we have the heat on on the 2nd of June!!). Now that we are home and the trip stress is over, I hope that Rusty will get back to the lovely streak of "normal-cat" numbers he had before our trip to Camp (9 days in a row of numbers in the "normal" range).
His injured foot/leg seems to be getting better. He is not limping this morning, but he still appears to be favoring his right foot somewhat. He sticks it out to the side when he sits. I suspect that he strained his "ankle" and this is a good way to rest it when he is not walking. We will have it checked out by the vet next week.

Today is the first day of our seasonal farmers' market. I hope the farmers wear their woolies under their raingear!!

Everyone have a good day. Kitties, start preparing for the Full Moon party on Monday. I think it will be at Camp Stu.

Ella & Rusty

Re: 6/2 Rusty AMPS 145

Amazing! Still so cold in NY! We are having the aircon on already. Although rainning, it's stuffy & wet.
Lovely blue number for Rusty! Hope his leg gets better soon.
Have a nice weekend & happy shopping at the farmers market (they sell their vege there, right?)

Re: 6/2 Rusty AMPS 145

'Morning Ella. Very nice start to Rusty's day. I love blue mornings. I didn't get to many condo's yesterday and didn't know Rusty hurt his foot. I hope he rests it today. If the weather is as yucky as ours, at least he won't want to go out and exercise it.
No squirrel chasing today.

I can't wait for our farmer's market to open. All those lovely veggies. I need some hanging flower baskets too. :-D

Have a wonderful day, Ella, Edward, Rusty :-D

Re: 6/2 Rusty AMPS 145

Morning everyone! we are rainy here today too. But wow on having the heat on....

I am glad that Rusty's foot is better - good news! Probably still a good idea to have it looked at when he goes to the vetty.

Enjoy the farmers market. I love those - such wonderful fresh things. I hope folks will come despite the weather.

Have a great day today - and Rusty - think green!

Re: 6/2 Rusty AMPS 145

Morning Ella and glad Rusty's leg/ankle is better. Resting today in a warm place next to the radiator will help him feel better. That is cold for this time of year. We're having mild weather, and I know our turn will come. Enjoy the Farmer's Market. I made it to TJ's yesterday.

Re: 6/2 Rusty AMPS 145

Hi Ella,

Thanks for your message in Ella's condo. I am glad that the leg feels a bit better today. Pinky sits with his leg out to the side quite often, due to his arthritis.

Today would be a good day for sitting by the radiator here, too. Pinky has tunnelled into his blanket cave on the bed for the day.

Have a good day at the Farmer's Market!

Re: 6/2 Rusty AMPS 145

It's a god start toward those nice normal numbers, just a little further, Mighty Hunter. Chilly morning there, I haven't even looked yet but we areprobably close. We are down in the 50s at night all summer.

I hope you find lot of good stuff at the market.

Re: 6/2 Rusty AMPS 145

Rusty, Hunting is a serious business & you must be in top physical shape(which you are) but those squirrels are fast, so you need to be careful when you go after them!!--OK? Hope your ankle feels much better & that you ave a great Caturday--
Ella & Ed, it was chilly this am, but now, soon the AC will need to be put on!--Hope it gets warmer for you!
Enjoy your day--Hugs & love from us!!

Rusty I is worried about your foots & hope dat it gets better real soon! Cant wait to come to Camp Stu & be wif you -I miss you a lots--Lubs from Moonie!

Re: 6/2 Rusty AMPS 145

Morning you guys....hope Rusty will rest his ankle today...

All this talk about the weather...uh...maybe i will sit out for that particular conversation.
You guys don't wanna KNOW!!!
Seems your condo always makes me wanna go get my winter bathrobe on, Ella.....Brrrrrrrr......

I can talk about Farmer's market though....the Farmer's Market in St. Petersburg has closed for the season.....my DD went there last weekend which was their last open-for-business days.
(they have to close on account of it BEING SO HOT DURING THE NEXT FEW MONTHS DOWN HERE......)
Ok, maybe I should not join in on the Farmer's Market conversation either...

I guess I will just have to sit here quietly and bite my tongue....LOL

Re: 6/2 Rusty AMPS 145

Good Morning! I don't think we've had the opportunity to meet you yet. We hope Rusty's leg feels better quickly.

We've been switching between the heat and a/c for weeks now. I wish it would just make up it's mind.

Have a great day and hope you find lots of great stuff at the farmers market!

Re: 6/2 Rusty AMPS 145

Nice start to the day for Rusty! hope all continues for you! haven't visited in a while so it's good to see him surfing in the blues.

Re: 6/2 Rusty AMPS 145

Goodness, the heat turned on? Sounds chilly.....brrrrrrr! I've gotta say it always sounds much colder in NY than it does here in Saskatchewan.

Rusty take it easy on that leg, get all rested up and better in time for your full moon party.

Ya Rusty i've gotten squirrels, chipmunks, weasels, and a few months ago i woulda had a muskrat too if my gramps didn't make me go inside the house...... I even caught a snake once too! That one made my grandma scream   I can show you how to catch all those things if you want......lemme know! Leo

Re: 6/2 Rusty AMPS 145

Very impressive hunting skills, Leo! Sorry about that comment. But have you ever caught a Pine Marten? I have a friend who live on the edge of the BWCA and he caught and killed 2! Toivo was famous! His terrier goggie bro used to chase off the bears, too!

Re: 6/2 Rusty AMPS 145, +5.5 60

Hi again,

Rusty is staying inside today. He wanted to go out, but we want him to rest his leg. I made a vet appt. for Tuesday for his FVRCP shot, to have her look at his leg/foot, and to have the spec fPL done again (this time the "real" spec fPL-- not the "snap" fPL--because I want to have a baseline number for future reference). (The "snap" fPL tells if the cat is positive for pancreatitis, but does not tell the extent of the pancreatitis. Both tests are IDEXX, but the "spec" has to have the bloodwork sent to the IDEXX labs, whereas the "snap" can be done on IDEXX equipment in the vet's office.)

Rusty got weighed this morning and his weight has fluctuated downwards again. Yay! 16 lbs., 12.5 oz. (Last weighing, on 22 May, he was 17 lbs., 3 oz., which was an upward fluctuation and very high for him. Ideally, I would like him to be 16 lbs. 0 oz. (In Feb., 2011, 2 months after we adopted him, he was 15 lbs., 8 oz. on the vet's scale.)

Yesterday I got the "replacement" boxes of 31-gauge Monoject syringes (I had called them to complain that the needles did not come down far enough into the body of the syringe to get an accurate draw). When I looked at them last night, they looked OK, but today, looking more carefully, I see that they are scarcely better than the ones I complained about. The lot number on these replacement boxes is 203414. (The other boxes have lot number 136133.) This is frustrating!

bbl. Lots of paperwork to do, and I have to go to the store, too.

Ella & Rusty

p.s. There were several farmers at the farmers' market, including a cheese maker from the Champlain Valley who makes wonderful washed rind, raw cheeses. So we got some cheese and some field greens. The growing season here is just beginning.

Re: 6/2 Rusty AMPS 145, +5.5 60

Nice green there Mr Rusty, good luck at the upcoming vet visit. Paws crossed it's just a sprain from squirrel chasing.

Did Rusty have a booth at the Farmer's Market - selling BBQ squirrel or stew?

Re: 6/2 Rusty AMPS 145, +5.5 60, +9.75 73, PMPS 130

Looks like Rusty is back. Glad his foot is better. Poor guy. It will be good to have it checked out though. Have a great night Ella!

Re: 6/2 Rusty AMPS 145, +5.5 60, +9.75 73, PMPS 130

Oh, 40-50 degrees sounds so far away right now! We had what was an unseasonably cool weekend with a high in the 80s. It's going to be 100 plus soon! But we sure do like the easy winters.

Hey Rusty! One of my feetz gets sore too and my beanz try to keep me from hunting. They says it is arthuritis. I gotz to get out in the yard and catch some noms! --Simey

Looks like Rusty is bouncing from the 60 earlier today. These trips do mess him up. We had a relaxing evening. Rusty is walking better and hopping up on the couch more easily. He is snubbing Wellness turkey, his main food, in favor of Fancy Feast T&G. I think he doesn't like the newest batch of Wellness (dated best by Jan. 2015). I have noticed that it is much more soupy and has a finer texture. Unfortunately, I have another case of it with the same date after he finishes this one. Tomorrow I will skip Wellness and feed By Nature and BG (and, of course, FF T&G in limited quantities).

Thanks for visiting today. Everyone have a good evening,
Ni ni,
Ella & Rusty

Hey Kitties, wow, Leo is a master hunter. He'll have to give all of us pointers at the Full Moon Party on Monday.
