Had to drop stool sample off this morning. Will have results tomorrow. Did major 3 hour cleaning/disinfecting. He is doing fabulous but I just want to know what's wrong with him so if he is diabetic/needs insulin I can start treating it already!

Any thoughts on how to get him off W/D and onto a good food (not raw) that will be ok for his stomach/GI issues?

Re: 6/5 Tidus AMBG 282

Have you tried fortiflora sprinkled on the wet food? Zener likes that but Tillie the civie thinks it's disgusting.

He will eat anything. I would like to find something low carb but good for his GI issues. I think the W/D is keeping his BG high.

I'm so glad to hear that Tidus is doing well! Jenn, have you looked at the food lists? I would look at Binky's list and the new one for some low carb, low phosphorous and ash foods to try with him (no gravies). Rabbit is supposed to be easy to digest or duck or chicken, just nothing fancy with a lot of things mixed together.

Racci loves the Merrick canned Before Grain (2% carb) and since that doesn't have anything but one meat, it should be easy to digest. (Racci is extremely fussy! She ate dry food for 15 years and hated wet food!)

It is hard waiting for test results, but hopefully there is nothing serious going on that can't be easily fixed. Wonton used to be on W/D and now she's enjoying Fancy Feast Classic chicken, turkey or beef. She has had a very sensitive stomach but now she's eating with no issues. I know every cat is different, but might be worth a try.

I've heard about rabbit and duck being easier to digest. I looked at Janet and Binkey's but it's hard to compare when I don't know what the ingredients are. Going to Petsmart tomorrow to stock up on cat supplies so I'll see what they have. I may have to go to my local specialty pet store for something better quality.

I'm not sure he's ready for Fancy Feast yet, but hopefully soon.
