Good morning LL!

I hope all is well with everyone. The weather is gorgeous here. In the 80's, sunny & dry. I never got out yesterday so I'm going to try again for today. I only got about 2 hours sleep so would like to takt a nap in the sun.

Yesterday Racci had an asthma attack so I'm a little nervous about leaving her though. I'm using a different Flovent so hoping it will be okay. Sometimes they start running out sooner than they should and I'm guessing that's what hapened & why she had an attack so maybe she won't have another if she's getting it properly from a different inhaler. Other than that, she seems fine except that she's decided the past few days that she doesn't want any oral meds, which could all be related.

It's getting late so I'd better get going. TTYL.

Poor Racci, asthma attacks are no fun! Starting with a nice blue AMPS though! Hope you both have a good Caturday.

Re: 6/9/12-Racci-AMPS-192

These are not Racci-like numbers!! Is it the asthma and the flovent? Poor little one!!

I hope you get some rest today Melanie....in the sun sounds great! Blech on the humidity, though.

Sending healing vines for Racci.

BTW...you asked me a while back how little Gracie is. When Tobey was six months old, he was bigger (taller and longer) than she is and he's an average size cat. She weighs a little over 8 lbs...she has a little extra weight (maybe 1 lb) on her but you can see her waist and feel her ribs. She's just really plush and she's the epitome of the Scottish Fold round body. They typically are not "lean" cats like Siamese or Abbys. I think her little legs are only about 5" tall

PS I'm glad Racci loves her NANNER!!!

Hi Anne & Marje!

Anne, yes, she was blue this morning but barely. She's been getting some really high numbers (for her) the last few days so I was glad to see it moving down again just now. Don't get me wrong, I'm thankful for the blues since the yellows weren't that long ago, but definitely want under 150 if I can get it. I hope she stays in the green for a while today.
The asthma was especially scary since she hasn't had an attack in a really long time so it took me by surprise and her too to a certain extent though I think she was more prepared for it and trying to tell me something was wrong with the one I was using. I was just thick! Luckily it happened in front of me and I'm always ready with her Albuterol and aerokat handy but since it hadn't been used in so long it was a new Albuterol & had to be primed and I was counting seconds, very scary! She got control just as the Albuterol was ready but I gave her some anyway to open her up well and prevent another attack right away. I had to search for another Flovent since her new order isn't here yet and found one that's mine and weaker so have to give 2 puffs bid instead of 1. :YMSIGH: Poor Racci.

Marje, I think the asthma might have something to do with it and probably the Flovent too. Racci had an all green surf day & I thought how great!, she's settling into the new dose. Then all of a sudden her bg started getting higher. I should have realized she was telling me there was a problem with the flovent when she didn't want it since she usually doesn't argue about it unless it's starting to run out. Since she also didn't want to take her other meds, I assumed it was just all of them. She's also taking antibiotics though and that could have something to do with it too. She's been constipated and then yesterday pooped several times. She woke me to help her in the bathroom last night a couple of times & to feed her another couple of times. ohmygod_smile

Gracie sounds so adorable! She probably looks like a kitten. Racci was still a kit at 8 lbs. She's short legged also (one of the reasons I get her stomach hair cut so it doesn't drag on the floor) but has a long body & is a big girl, bone structure-wise. I can just picture Gracie's cute little body. :-D She must be a pleasure to carry around.

I'm trying to decide if the catnip scent might bother her too right now. If I see that she has another asthma attack, I'm going to remove the beloved 'nanner' temporarily until she's stronger again.

I got an hour in the sun. It was too hot to stay any longer. I couldn't handle the heat more than that but it felt good while it lasted. I'm going to go feed my wild birds now and try to take a short nap with my Racci girl until her next test & meal time. Thanks for visiting! TTYL
