Yesterday's Condo

Basil seems to be doing well although his appetite is iffy. I didn't test him much yesterday or even this morning because I have been trying to leave him food so he eats when the mood strikes. Today at AM+8 I knew he had had at most a tiny bite in the last 3 or 4 hours, so I tested him and was rewarded with a pretty 98. I told him he was a Very Good Boy. So he said then can we lay off the bubble gum flavored horror show? I said yes, soon.

His mouth may be sore from the extractions. You have pain meds, don't you?

Lydia, can you feed him maybe some baby food? chicken ground up?\
The Clavamox is probably upsettling his stomach & that could be why he isnt eating, but he cant not, not take the ab's..So try to get something into his tummy before you give the Clava..Paws & fingers crossed that he feels better tomorrow..Sorry you are going through this..Prayers for Basil to get his appy back--Hugs & Love from us!!

Sienne, I am pretty sure it is not pain. He lets you rub anywhere on and around his mouth. And he just doesn't look to be in pain.

Roni, that is an interesting idea about the baby food. I have managed to get him to eat by feeding him smaller amounts than usual and more often. Tomorrow, no more antibiotics. They were prophylactic and the vet felt 4 days would do it if his tummy was acting up. Yay!
