Hello Lantus Land! Moses and I are doing well today, I just got home from work.

I noticed my christmas cactus, Ivan, has gotten snacked on lately. And I know the culprit. Moses makes no difference between the taste of crunch and the crunchy taste of cactus. Meanwhile, Ivan does not think it's funny.

Is christmas cactus high carb or does it spike BG? Ha! J/k.

His numbers have been high and have taken a while to get better... Helene & Tizon made a good suggestion yesterday about a possible dose increase. Yet, Saturday might be my first day to get some real good tests in. What do you think?

I can't believe Moses will eat cactus! Poor Ivan, not even safe in his own home. ;) Moses, I know your mama provides you with tasty food; you don't have to eat Ivan.

I hope Ivan doesn't have all those little stickers. Yikes, that would stick Moses right? Sounds like Moses needs a sister or brother to keep himself busy when you are at work ;-) Just kidding.

Looked at your SS, and while I'm not a dosing consultant-- just like I just did, I gave Moonie a dosecrease to bring her numbers down from yellow-blue, to the lower floors...Libby & Jill suggested it & it seems to be working...
So, as Moses has had some nice blue, he hasnt had any green...It seems a dosecrease may be in order--Wait for the others to respond.
We want the very best for sweet Moses!!

Did you shoot already? It looks like it from your SS.

I do think there's room for an increase. You haven't seen much green. However, it's hard to gauge if some of those pinks are bounces from lower numbers since you haven't been able to gat very many AM spot checks lately.

Yes, it's a bummer about the AM spot checks. I'm off Saturday! Would it be best to hold out?

it looks like you probably have room for an increase, but I'd like to do it on a cycle when you can do a decent amount of testing. There's a possibility that you have missed some green, probably on 2/22 and 2/23. I still think there's room, but that you should be able to spot check.

Are you off on Sunday too, or just Saturday? A good strategy might be to increase on Friday night so you can be around for several cycles.

I'm only off on Saturday. I work a full day on Sunday :sad:

Wednesdays and Saturdays are my off days (not that you should know my schedule).

Except when there's a TX snow day :mrgreen: More please!

Hi Erica,

Just so I don't get served noodles tonight...... I beleive yesterday I said that with a few spot checks we would be able to see whether a dose adjustment was due... so to clarify.... one may be due, but may be not - would depend on the spot checks.... I'm sorry about the confusion.

Looks like the kibbles might be out of Moses's system now... yay!

Oh yes, Helene & Tizon, you are good. Sorry if I projected you as being one-sided or what not.

I didn't take it that way, nor was I confused. I was just happy for your suggestion, whether a does increase is needed or not. :mrgreen:

After the many great replies I received today, I think it's best to wait until Saturday to gain more data. I think that's a wise idea. He's almost touching green tonight! I'm sure if I wait a half hour until his peak (+3.5), it'd be green. But he's ready for beddies. As am I.

B/t/w, I forgot to mention that Moses had a pukus today. Ohhh! Maybe Ivan's revenge? Actually, it was a lot of wet food. He's not a puker, so it can be odd. I know he ate it around +5 b/c I found the vomit when I came home. Hope his tummy feels better... cat_pet_icon

Oh, and! I almost bought him yeowzah banana today. It was verrry tempting. Maybe next time.

That's okay, it's not your fault. I wanted to post this funny pic as a celebration... I'll post it anyways. I caught him picking on my red little lion in the shot, he was caught in the act!
