Good Morning, Everyone,

I'm playing catch-up today and got distracted by some awful paperwork. Now that's finished!

Rusty had a good night and a good morning. Test, shot, breakfast (Wellness Turkey from the 3-oz. can) went well, and a nap in his basket is underway. We are supposed to get lots of rain today and that will be very welcome. Tomorrow, if it dries out, Edward and I will begin preparations to re-stain our front and back steps.

Have a good day, everyone. Thinking of Leo and Grayson and hoping they are doing fine with the SRT.

Morning Ella - well bummer on the nasty paperwork!, but glad it is done. WOO HOO! Now time to play... well maybe. Too bad it is raining, but sounds like it is needed. Good luck with the steps tomorrow - that does not sound like fun. I so need to do our deck too, but keep putting it off....

Rusty - you are off to a great start today - what a nice amps. Greens in a few for you?

Have a great day Ella. Good luck with the catch-up!

Re: 7/17 Rusty AMPS 103

Hi Ella. What a wonderful start to Rusty's day. He's probably green now, as I write. ??? :-D

Lucky you on the rain. We got a weekend of rain on and off, little amounts at a time. Grass is still brown and crunchy tho.
Now it's threatening, but I'm going out anyway to get some Wellness, even with a stack of FF in the pantry. What we do for the kids, huh?

Hey Rusty, I tried to send a message to you, but Mom deleted it. She did snap a pic of me doing it....it's in my condo.
Your Buddy, Checkers

Thanks, Checks, I'm off to see your pic as soon as my mamabean gets home.

Hi again,

The day is pretty well shot, so I decided to make use of the humidity, damp, and impending storms by going up to Plattsburgh for kitty food and treats. It's the only chance I'll have for the next 2 or 3 weeks.

bbl,

Ella

Ugh, glad the paperwork is done. Getting kitty food is always an important job! Can't skip that no matter what the weather. I hope you have time for a little fun shopping too.

Rusty, did you see that entrance I made from Zenner's slide!!?????? What a way to get into the Lagoon! -- Tess

Re: 7/17 Rusty AMPS 103, +5.5 91

Awful paperwork is a redundant sentence in my book. All paperwork is awful. Great to hear you got it done and can move on to more fun things, like petting a certain green boy. Have a wonderful day Ella!

Re: 7/17 Rusty AMPS 103, +5.5 91

I hope that you had a safe trip to Plattsburgh. I see that there are some severe storm warnings in your area, and a tornado warning up at the Canadian border.

Re: 7/17 Rusty AMPS 103, +5.5 91

Hey, Ella -

Glad you got your paperwork finished. It's always nice to be able to mark something of the to-do list! And, if it wasn't on there, add it, so you can mark it off!! :-D

Oh, YAY! on the rain!!! SUCH a drought this year - read an article about stocking up on the staples like oatmeal, flour and corn because those prices have already started rising. Lucky for the kitties their food is grain free, so maybe those prices won't rise...I know, I know, wishful thinking!!

We do have to go out for treats and Oreo's Friskies is cheaper at Walmart than I've found it online, but we order Hershey's (4 cases at a time). SOOO nice to have it shipped to the house for free!!

We kept talking about staining our deck, but now Doug is talking about tearing it down and rebuilding it. So, guess we can hold off on the staining!

Rusty - LOVE that +5.5!!!!

I hope y'all have a wonderful day -

Libby (& Hershey, too!)

Re: 7/17 Rusty AMPS 103, +5.5 91

Hi Ella

Beautiful day for Rusty!!!

Thanks for letting me know about the WN cans. I checked all of ours and ALL of them....3 oz and 5.5 oz are made in the USA. Wish I had some of the Canadian ones to see if they made a difference but she's eating them today. Go figure.

Because you are so special and dear to my heart, I pulled out all the micropipette equipment again and took my LAST remaining MJ syringe where the needle came down through the hub to the zero line (like they used to). While it was a "perfect" syringe in terms of the hub, the zero line was actually a little higher than it should have been.....that's why I had it. It had just been a sample syringe to show where a dose was but I didn't use it because it was off. With the micropipettor, 1u measured 0.95u. And I made sure I expelled all the insulin. The syringes I used to do my conversions for the Terumos all had the zero line similarly off. So you can see that the difference was what was in the hub.....basically 0.5u of insulin in the "new" hub where the needle doesn't go down to the zero line. So the old syringes were more accurate because they weren't allowing much, if any, insulin from the hub to go up the needle. While I had everything out, I double checked a Terumo syringe and I got the same number as before :-D Whew since all my new dosing charts are based on that number....but I did replicate it with several syringes the other day.

If you switch to the Terumos, 2.00mm on the digital caliper is 1.46u which is probably pretty darn close to your sk1.5 that you are shooting now. I do not measure with the calipers from where the zero mark is. I measure it from the clear plastic line (where the needle side of the plunger abuts when you push it all the way up) to the top of the plunger when you draw a dose. So the bottom of the upper arm of the caliper is absolutely flush with the clear plastic line (where the plunger hits) and the top of the lower caliper arm is absolutely flush with the top (needle side of the plunger).

I'll see if Mike can help me get a photo tonight.

Oh, Marje! This is great information!! Thank you so much for doing this for me. Now I don't have to worry about how to transfer the dose accurately when I make the switch to the Terumos. By the way, I just checked my box of Terumos and they do indeed have 1/2 unit markings. I don't know why I thought that they didn't!

I'm going to send you a box of cimmamum cookies. Please PM me your address!! If you're lucky, Tobey won't eat them all.

Hi everyone else,
Isn't Marje terrific!
We are having cataclysmic storms. I just got up enough courage to turn on my computer again. Fortunately we have power (many places don't). I got to and from Plattsburgh OK, but the weather was threatening and there were bad storms with large hail a bit further west. These are the storms (minus the hail) that we are getting now. Potsdam, where I was for my college reunion over the weekend, has been shut down: the streets are impassable!

Rusty is doing great. A little storm action doesn't bother him one bit. He's cruisin' along in green and is hosting a party in the lagoon tonight.

Off to condos,

Ella & Rusty

Nice pmps Rusty!!! You've had quite the day in the lagoon

Glad to hear you have power Ella. Looks like we're slated for the big storm as well. Hopefully our streets won't get flooded like the ones in Postdam.
Hope you have an enjoyable and safe evening:)

Hi Ella,
Glad you were able to get out and get back before the storms got too bad. We are supposed to get them tomorrow. What a beautiful day Rusty had, even with the storms! Daphne will be a mess tomorrow, I don't even want to do her test!

Thanks for visiting us tonight!
Have a great night!

You're welcome!! Looks like photo will have to wait....I'm sorry......and tomorrow is a work day but I'll try to get it as soon as we can.

Have a great night!
