Re: 7/27 Checkers amps 110

WOO HOO! And go Checks! What a nice start today. I can't decide what I like better: the amps or the in your face furry purry kitty. I think I like the furry purry kitty best. You surf well today Checkers.

Bummer on the weather - hope the sun does make an appearance there for you guys. We are overcast this morning too - darn marine layer! They say sun, so maybe for once they are right.

Enjoy your day Barb - I hope it is a good one.

Re: 7/27 Checkers amps 110

Oh, poor Checkers! Our Karre gets sore when it's cold and rainy, too. He likes a heated gel pack to snuggle up to - have you ever tried that for Checkers?
Hope you both have a good day despite the weather!

Jane

Checkers is determined to keep me home lately. I looooove the green, but gees, I live an hour drive from everything, so the only way I can leave is to carb him. Ain't gonna do it, just so I can go shopping outside of our little town.
I better shut up, before I get a wish I'm not asking for. nailbite_smile

Checkers is on his way up, so I'm not going to test again, until I have to, 'cause it won't be green

Hi Barb, what a nice slide today for Checkers. It looks like he wanted you close to home. On the permission slip, try it tomorrow and see what happens.

Re: 7/27 Checkers pmps 222

My heart hurts. Checkers is in so much back pain right now. I didn't see it coming on, and I feel I should have known, since I myself have been hurting with all this rain and stormy weather.
Unless he hurt himself when I wasn't looking.

He had a hard time getting up from a laying position. When I tried to help, he cried in a way that's sickening for a mom to hear.

We're waiting for bupe to kick in now. Takes effect in about 45 minutes, he sleeps for a couple hours, then gets up looking for food.
Sorry this is so long, but if I don't write it, I'll scream.
Thanks for listening.

Re: 7/27 Checkers pmps 222

Barb, I'm so sorry Checkers is hurting. You had no way of knowing it as he was laying down, and cats are known for hiding their pain. They even purr when in pain. Sending some healing vines for the bupe to kick in and make Checkers feel better. Would a warm gel pak help, as Jane suggested in someone's condo. I thought it was yours. Let us know how he's doing. When he starts asking for food, you'll know he's feeling better. Hugs for you and Checkers. Keep us posted.

Re: 7/27 Checkers pmps 222

Barb I so Feel for you & Checkers!!! Moonie was also in some discomfort today, & it breaks my heart--
I did put a warm bean thingy on her but she just got up..After all, she does still walk on her hocks mostly, I watch her struggle sometimes, If i see that I usually lift her up, but she is very headstrong & jumps herself..
I also have bupe & adequan, but am hesitant to give it to her--Hey, I am in lots of pain too & I medicate myself.
I guess I will know what day will be the day...Hope all of us feel better tomorrow-
It was all different here today, raining, sunny, killer humid, now cooled off...Hope your weather is better tomorrow--Hugs & Love from us!

Re: 7/27 Checkers pmps 222

Well there's good news and bad. I wasn't sure earlier, if Himself had gotten into kibble........Now I know!

The good news is, bupe is a wonder drug for this particular problem of Checkers'. He is playing now, two hours after the dose.
He's walking around well, and playing quietly with a toy, going to his water fountain. Feeling good.

Oh, Barb -

So sorry about Checkers' pain. Hershey broke his hip and had to have surgery about 6 years ago. For the longest time after, he would hurt when it was yucky or cold weather. He lay around, have trouble walking, cryyyy. I never thought of a heated gel pack or something along those lines. What a good idea! It's so hard when they're hurting and we can't fix it. Glad he has the bupe to give him some relief.

Have a great night -

Libby (& Hershey, too!)

Ya know....if he's feeling good after feeling so bad, who cares about a little kibble? As long as he's happy....keep feeling good, Checks!
