Re: 8/22 Max AMPS 116+2~83

They just put sugar in everything these days, don't they?

I had the same troubles with bacon a few days ago.

it's hard to win at the game when the odds are stacked against us every turn.....

Re: 8/22 Max AMPS 116+2~83

Hi Dale, I remember Barb & Checkers had the same problem with the deli store chicken. I think she mentioned it had dextrose or something in it. I know I stopped giving it to Maggie when noticed a spike.
Nice green there so early for Max, paws crossed for some action later.

Oh, I think he's going to surf for a few cycles until I get the shed full or overflowing. I took him upstairs with me after the +2, and we took a nap. He woke me up for food, but didn't have a drop from the 80s.

DH and Emita are at grandmama's. We have nice cool overcast skies here, too, Ann. I'm getting a day at home alone, and I should be doing about 100 things, but I'm getting caught up on some rest instead . . . so far . . .the laundry is calling though . . . "Dale, Dale, we are so looking forward to a nice dip in the washing machine and a warm spin in the dryer. Just remember what your great-grandmother went through trying to wash her clothes . . . it's so easy for you, don't be lazy!" Instead, I'm tempted to make myself a box of macaroni and cheese, and eat the entire thing in front of an episode of CSI, hee hee. I already ate chocolate for lunch -- just chocolate! What Emma can't see won't hurt her! This evening it will be back to making sure there are green and orange things on all our well-balanced plates.

If you have a box of the "extra cheddar" style and a heineken....that's close enough to green and orange...

Wonn . . .wonn ... wonnnnn - No mac and cheese in the cupboard! Good suggestion, Carl, I'll remember that.

NIce steady numbers today for Max! I can hardly believe all the foods that have sugar and carbs since I started checking for it. I eventually realized even the plain unflavored greek yogurt I give Jasper for his test treat says has sugar, seems nothing is sacred. Also makes me rethink my own diet, for example now only eat 1 truffle at a time, and using the smaller wine glasses

Re: 8/22 Max AMPS 116+2~83+6.75~87

Max's BG is 106 at +10.75. He followed Emma and me out to the road and snooped around outside the fence. He doesn't seem to do that on his own thank Goodness.

It is a beautiful night here; we are going to sit on the balcony after Emma goes to bed.

Rhiannon, I know! Guess we ate too much . . . the other night I made cheese sauce from scratch because we bought some mac and cheese in a box we didn't like; it was organic; so few of those organic junk food things work out; but some are awesome so ya gotta keep trying. Of course, I'm trying not to give Emma too much in the way of carbs that aren't whole wheat. Maybe she'll grow up liking whole wheat pasta (Yuk!). The only one I've found that I can tolerate is fresh gnocchi, and No, it's not like regular potato gnocchi, but it's good. It's a lot like little blobs of polenta.

Ha, ha, Leslie. You know, eating one truffle at a time is good, it's just that when you eat one at a time every 15 minutes well . . . Smaller wine glasses do nothing for me, I just have to fill them up more often . . . hmm, I guess the white wine stays colder and the red wine breathes longer . . . maybe it does do something for me!

Ann, I see Maggie's doing pretty well today -- surfing Blue.

Re: 8/22 Max AMPS 116+2~83+6.75~87

Nowadays, they put sugar into everything readymade to make us hooked. I seldom eat readymade, do more home cooking. Oh yes, easy said than done. And dont forget all the condiments we added to our food; sauces, catchup... all got sugar, salt & msg. Even more difficult if you have a kid at home.
Lovely green Max. Surf on the green!

Yes, tortie they do; I'd rather see "sugar" than "partially hydrogenated" or "corn syrup," but I wasn't expecting there to be sugar or dextrose in meat from the deli. Silly me.

Going to relax before bed. Emma is back on the 8:30 to 8:30 schedule; although this really means she is put in her crib at 8:30 and wakes up in the morning whenever, but at least by 8:30 unless she's teething and needs more sleep. I think she's teething, and this could mean she wakes up at 6 in pain. Poor little thing.

Good night. I hope I can catch at +3.5 for Max tonight! I think the Hubs is going to be enlisted tonight.
