8/26 Hershey



HAPPY TUESDAY!!!

We started Hershey on Miralax Sunday evening; he's now had it added to his food 4 times and doesn't seem to notice. I'm concerned Oreo may take a notion to finish up Hershey's food and get the Miralax that Hershey needs and Oreo's DOESN'T! Last night, I added it to 1/3 meal for Hershey, planning to give him the rest after he finished. He didn't finish that until next meal time. Not sure what was going on, but next meal he was back to eating 1/2 initially, then going back to finish. He hasn't been eating as heartily lately; I mean, he does usually finish a meal before time for the next one. But, he had been scarfing it down, then at least eating it all before walking away. Now, he goes back every hour or so to have a bite. Thinking maybe that has to do with BG's?

Well, he looks good and last night's stool was softer looking, so maybe the Miralax is working already? All is well -

OT: I opted for the muscle relaxer Sunday night which helped me rest (and have stranger dreams than usual :roll: ). Today I'm almost back to normal (well, my normal anyway ;-) ). Thanks for the well wishes! And, thanks, Deborah, for the banana peel cartoon. I did feel kind of klutzy :lol:

Hi guys .. oh, sorry to hear about your fall! I sure hope you didn't do anything permanent .. peter has neck/shoulder issues and it can really put him out for days at a time .. I think once BG's start to level off kitties don't feel nearly has hungry as they did in the beginning .. it takes mocha forever and a day to finish her meals .. of course, she is missing half the teeth in her mouth .. Glad to hear the miralax may already be working for hershey .. try to take it easy today!

Nice numbers Hershey!

Sorry to hear about your fall. Hope you're feeling better soon. I strongly recommend Excedrin Back & Body. But I only take 1/2 tablet at a time - knocks me out for 4 hours. Wake up feeling well rested. But not so good if Hershey (or Grayson) decides to take a drop of their own!

Hershey is looking good!! Hope the Miralax keeps working well for him. And I'm so so glad you're feeling better after your fall, Libby! I've had my share of silly slip-and-falls lately! Keep taking care of yourself!

Hey, Devon - I'm hoping I didn't do anything permanent, too! I think I can thank maturity for me not bouncing back as quickly as I used to! ;-) Thanks for your thoughts on eating; Hershey used to beg for food but I can't remember the last time he did that. Maybe even if the SS doesn't show it, there's a little more consistency starting inside him? Hope so. Yes, I've been pleased with how he's taken to the Miralax, hope the little bit is all he needs.

Hey, Jane - Thanks for the well wishes for Hershey and me. I've had some balance issues lately (I think it's something between my sinuses and ear.) but haven't actually fallen in a long time. Hope it's a long time before the next one! :roll:

Hi Libby, hope you're feeling better. I knew you had taken a fall and DH was concerned. I know sometimes when you fall, you don't feel the side affects right away. How long has Hershey been on the Miralax. Some of he Beans mix the Miralax with water and syringe. I tried that method, too, and also syringing some of the cocktail on the food. Have a nice day.

Sorry you had a fall!!! hope you are healing & doing better--All kitties are having poo issues lately!!
It's going around ohmygod_smile --I use miralax for Moonie everyday & had given it to her bro(GA) and they all were good --Now as they get older, I guess poo becomes an issue for us too ohmygod_smile -I remember my DD saying if I could have just one poo in the morning, it would be a great day :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: True right :lol: Cats feel the same I guess

I'm glad to hear you're feeling better, Libby. Now, if we could just convince Hershey that just because he had a pink AMPS, he doesn't need to have a pink PMPS.

Hey, Ann - Thanks, I am feeling much better. A little soreness, but that's going away, too - YAY!! Hershey started Miralax on Sunday evening. We add a good deal of water to his food and he hasn't seemed to notice the Miralax - hoping that continues!

Libby, I'm glad to hear you are feeling a little better! My students and I have many giggles over banana peels and slipping and spinning out of control (thanks to the Super Mario Cart game on the Wii)!!! Keep taking it easy so your muscles can recover. Hope you all have a wonderful evening!

Hey, Deborah - Not sure how to get the lower numbers message across to Hershey. I've tried showing him other objects that are the desired color - like Doug's eyes and the carpet are blue. I've tried reading him his condo and showing him the colors on his SS. I've even tried whispering to him, thinking subliminal messages and all that. :YMSIGH: Hoping one day he'll listen... Thanks for the well wishes; glad my body was forgiving!
