Gooooooood morning! And Poopy sends a leg rub.

On a disappointing note, not going to be able to keep up the PM +6 tests. I have health issues that it likes to mess with so it's got to stop. We'll make do, though.

Brings us to today's AMPS of 223. :smile: I like the trend and hope to see more of a drop on this dose, but am prepared to do whatever is needed to bring Poopy down in numbers (when appropriate).

Good morning to you and Poopy from Maggie and me. I'm sure it will all work out, as you need to take care of yourself, too, so you can care for Poopie. I'm not able to do the night checks on Mags, so somehow it can all work out for Poopie and you, too. Hang in there, and have a nice day.

I wouldn't worry about routinely getting a PM +6. If you can get a test before you turn in for the night (aka a before bed test), that should be fine. If it looks like Poopy's numbers warrant more testing, then you may need to deal with monitoring but it will be on an individual night basis.

Wrong way Poopy! Turn it around. I don't always get a +6. Like Sienne said, you will figure Poopy out and know at +3 or +4 where the numbers are headed. Hugs to you!

Ha, exactly right Teresa. 2 days hardly qualifies as a trend, but that is what I saw on his AM cycles. LOL, I don't make guesses "blind"

I don't get +6 PM tests for Furball either. I get a before going to sleep test and if she's really low, I set an alarm and get up to check on her. So far I've only had to do that a couple of times. We have to take care of ourselves too or we won't be able to take care of our furbabies.

I peeked again... ;-) Forget meter variance, I was right!

Thanks, Melissa. I told Poopy but, as usual, he didn't listen very well. I was hoping it would be lower. Poopy knows I don't give up, though. A cat can be trained! :lol:

Which reminds me...when I took Poop in to work with me Saturday, my boss was great, taking Poop for a stroll around the office while I set up his LB and food dish. Once I had everything ready, I called for him. "Poo-oo-Oo-oop" with a bit of a lament sound and my boss started laughing! Poop was headed away from me when I called him and he immediately turned around and quickly rushed back to me. She couldn't believe it. A cat that comes when called! (She also thought it was funny how he was called. )

I've been watching your threads, keeping an eye on you and your boys. :smile: Poopster started Lantus on Saturday, so we're very much newbies. Poop is still doing well with all the Ps, so that's good. We're hoping for better numbers than what he could get off the ProZinc. And with the shortage and the vet wanting him on Lantus anyway...it was time for a change. :smile:

Nice blue you got there today Poops! Or should I say the poopster? Poopmeister? I saw that your son had all sorts of names for him. That's hysterical. Still need to get around to reading the rest of the thread related to kitties' names. That one had me cracking up the other night at dinner.

I also think it is EXTREMELY cool that you can take your kitty to work. Was this a one off thing or is your boss just the absolute coolest, most flexible person in the world? That is too funny.

I agree with the others about the +6. First priority is to take care of yourself first. Then you can best help others (including poo.oooo..ooooooooooop!)

Thanks, Jill, for checking in on The Poop and I'm glad you've enjoyed his names. The work thing is a one off, due to needing to keep such a close eye on Poop with the change in insulins. I had no idea what to expect (low, low numbers? high pinks? Had no idea.) and really didn't want to shot then leave him home alone all day, with only quick runs home to check him.

My boss is super cool.
