Morning ~O) ~O) and thanks for the visits after I couldn't stay awake last night! Michelle, Anne & Zener (thanks for the adorable pic of the kitty dreaming of poo :-D ), Helen, Dale (we sure miss you and Max), Lisa & Leo (Maggie's bro) and Wendy (Neko).

Maggie sure surprised me yesterday at the PM +2.5 with the 72! She has never been a diver, so I thought it might be partly the fluids, but I'm not sure as she's dropped at the +2 this morning, and she rarely moves until the +5!

Major good news for Detective Poo's report -- Mags just delivered a huge poo deposit finally. It's become a pattern that she now skips two days rather than the every other day poo! I guess that's okay, but I'll check with her Vet. There's no strain and it's a good consistency, not hard and not too soft! I notice though with the Lactulose, she sometimes coughs a little. I give her a little water, as the Lactulose is a sticky, syrupy liquid, so I'll check on that also with the Vet.
Her food yesterday was mostly Special Diet Friskies T&G plus some Wellness Turkey mixed in just to make sure no pukus. She did have a small pukus this morning though right before I tested her. She was wanting more food, so thus the reason for the +2!

yay for poo!! That is great news. Every third day now? As long as she isn't straining and it is a good one when she does I guess there are no issues. Wow on the 72 yesterday. I missed that one. That is very unlike her. Just when you think you have them figured out...

Thanks Melissa. I thnk, too, it is probably okay with the poo for the third day. She starts feeling lethargic on the 2nd day (like yesterday). On the poo day she's back to her Maggie self, even playing with her mouse pole toy!

What a great day for Maggie last night - all that green. Interesting too on the drops you are now seeing. Maybe just Maggie getting herself back to the numbers she knows she should be at. Sure was nice to see those greens. and nice that Maggie told you too.

WOO HOO on the prezzies! And on the good appy this morning. All is well in MaggieVille. :-D

Yay for Poo! Here we all are, vicariously hovered around Maggie's LB, waiting for prezzies. Poor girl needs a little privacy! :-D

Yay for poo and a beautiful blue surf!!!!

I think I'm going to get some of the Friskies, too...I want to have an assortment of stuff on hand, both to try, and to spread things out so that if one fuds ever does have an issue (such as a recall, etc), the kitties won't be overexposed to it, and it'll make transitioning to another fuds easier.

Still surfing the blues!

Hi Devon and thanks on Maggie and checking on her. It was a nice drop. The weather is a bit uncomfortable, but today it's a few temperatures below so a little better.

Thanks Michelle on the special Mannie brew ~O) ~O) ~O) just what I needed! It was so good to see her in the greens and not expecting it. I was spoiled with her nice even surf. I should get out for a walk today, but for some reason I can't get myself put together! :lol: Maybe some more Mannie brew! ~O) ~O)

Lisa & Leo, on the "hovered around Maggie's LB, waiting for prezzies. Poor girl needs a little privacy!" :lol: I know, you guys are so great being so supportive of Maggie's poo issues! I really am grateful.

Hi Amy, I used the Friskies in the past and not sure why I stopped. Sometimes Maggie's numbers would spike and I wasn't sure if it was a particular food. I also bought a couple cans of Merrick chicken to mix in. She wasn't crazy about it as a whole entree!

Yay for blue and poo!! At least she is consistently going every 3rd day. That seems like a good sign.

Interesting that you are giving Maggie the Friskies T&G. I started buying it again because it turns out that it is the only brand that Cleo will eat anymore. I know it is probably not the best for her since she has CKD, but eating is the most important thing. If all she wants is Friskies, then Friskies it is! I seem to remember that Simon also used to spike, like Maggie, with the Friskies, but I gave him some recently and he didn't. So crazy, isn't it!

I tried to do a btd, but Mags decided I should be up and around! I do need to get busy, so good thing she doesn't want me lounging around.

Hi Georgia, the SD Friskies T&G is okay on the phosphorus and under 1% on Dr. Lisa's list. I was surprised to see it there. And five (5) carbs so not too bad.

I think all the different things we are trying takes a little time to settle in,, like the every third day poo. it could be the change in fuds too and she may go back to every other day. She is a cat after all. ;-)

Tess liked the Special Diet Friskies too, but it did spike her numbers. Now that I know that her regular foods were so much lower than I thought I can see why.

I'd get the BG Turkey, it has half the phosphorus. I don't know of any cats that want to eat the Merrick BG fuds straight. That's what I do w/ the Avoderm though, mix it w/ something really LC. To get the carbs for the mix add the numbers from both foods and divide by 2. Do the same thing w/ the phos. it isn't exact unless they both have the same kcal/oz, but pretty close. Individual batche of food can vary anyway.

Thanks Ann on that with the BG Turkey and also the mixing of the two fuds. I was going to venture out today and oick up more food, but I just took a short walk to the recycling bin, and it is so hot. My car sits outside, and the door handles were even hot to the touch. I think I'll wait til tomorrow morning.

ETA: Ann & Tess, I did buy the Merrick Turkey, just checked, as it was the one on the list, thanks.

Anne & Zener, little Maggie is thrilled to hear she has won the "Golden Poo Award!" :-D

I just stopped by to see how Maggie was doing. I see she won an award! Well congratulation, Maggie! Anne, that's quite a handsome award! Inspector Pooh outdid himself!

I wish I had your beautiful sunshine, Ann. We have fall already. It makes me sad because winter is around the corner.

Trix doesn't like the Merrick chicken by itself, either. I used to be able to mix it with Fancy Feast, but she finally refused it.

Tonight, I tried Friskies T&G with Wellness Turkey (Wellness IS getting phased out, but I want to transition her), and she LOVED it. We'll see what it does to her BG, though. So, I'm thinking maybe ust the Friskies T&G as a "flavor" enhancer for lower carb fuds, just like Ann was saying.

Hi Roni & Moonie, I have not tried the PropPlan line but did see it on the list. Moonie, stuffy, never! :-D She's a sweetie!

Amy, so glad Trixie likes the SD Friskies T&G. It's a nice consistency. I'm also still transitioning the Wellness. I also bought some Merrick Turkey, not the chicken as I thought.
