I am back from my trip to Florida to check on my cousin. She is still at the pscychiatric hospital and is not doing that well. It was an exhausting trip (we drove 900 miles in 3 days) and I am glad to be back. Simon and Cleo are also glad, although DH did a great job as usual taking care of them.
I got Simon's urinalysis results back. No UTI noted and all levels look good, except his glucose was a little high, according to the vet that called me while I was out of town. Unbelievable story: Simon's vet was out of town all week and one of the other vets in the office that has never seen Simon called to give me the results. She started telling me about Simon's blood glucose result and how it may indicate diabetes because it was in the low 200's. She then started going into detail about diabetes and what it is. She had not even looked at his chart to see that he has a diagnosis of diabetes! I told her that Simon has been diabetic for 2 years and is on insulin for his diabetes. She was so embarassed! Needless to say, I have a call in to Simon's regular vet to talk to him about Simon's results. The only thing besides blood glucose that was high is the amylase on the blood test. It is double the amount from last time, although I know from y'all that it might not be an indicator of anything terrible. I still am thinking about getting an u/s on Simon's abdomen just to rule out anything else.
It is good to be back!
