Good evening everyone! Sending many healing prayers and thoughts to Tarragon, Fitzel, Rocket and Comet, and any others who need them.
Gracie had to go back to the vet today. When I got home late last night from work, her chin was swollen. I thought it might be a little acne although she only has glass food and water plates/bowls. I soaked it with warm water and epsom salts and scrubbed with a veterinary antibacterial soap. It looked a wee bit better this morning but was warm to the touch so I decided I better have the vet look at it because I couldn't really tell if there was any abscess. She said there were a few blackheads and some inflammation but she couldn't tell if it was acne or a bug/spider bite or scorpion sting but to continue the treatment and bring her back Fri/Sat if it got worse. I don't know if her numbers going up are due to the chin issue or just the vetty visit as she always rises for a vet visit. She seems fine other than that...she was playing today but not as much as yesterday.
When I got home from the vet, my DBFF came by and she had had to help her Scottish Fold kitty (12 years old) transition across the Bridge. He lived with us for five weeks when they moved here from Hawaii and were getting settled so we were very close to him. He was a wonderful kitty. I guess he got sick last Fri...wouldn't eat and started peeing out of the LB so she took him into the vet and they hospitalized him. They said his specfPL was positive for p'titis and his GI organs didn't look good on the U/S...including thickening in the intestine so they suspected lymphoma. The real problem was that his fever was out of control and they couldn't get it down with A/Bs and steroids. She had not wanted to call me while I was with DM. Any way...a very sad day for us today.
Hope all is well with you all. Hoping for some green kitties tonight including our own
