Well, this is strange guys! :YMSIGH: Maggie girl was doing so well yesterday. I wonder what would make it spike so high! I wonder about some dry DM she ate last night. She was being so picky yesterday, just sucking the juice from the FF and not eating much bulk. I even hand fed her some FF just trying to get her to eat the bulk. Sooooo, I gave in and just put a very small amount of the dry DM in a bowl. Could just this small amount have spiked her sugar back up! I didn't think I missed and did a fur shot!!

Re: 30/8 Ann & Maggie AMPS 235

Hi! Just wanted to stop by and say hi, I am not one to give advice so I will leave that for the others. Hope you have a good day!

Re: 30/8 Ann & Maggie AMPS 235

Hey, good morning Michelle and Scrabble! Thanks for dropping by, and how is Scrabble doing today?

I'll stop by his condo and see how he's doing. I know you were talking about a dosecrease for today. Boy, they can be doing so well and then surprise us! And I have a lot to do today, too. Take care.

Re: 30/8 Ann & Maggie AMPS 235

I'm no expert either, but Tess is very sensitive to carbs. Even a little can jump her numbers up. Maggie might be the same. I've seen posts that say that dry will stay in their system a long time raising the BG, even a little.

Sometime I'll open a couple different cans to get her to eat, fish usually works, but you can't feed that too often. Plain chicken is a good protein source for a few extra calories. I think they say up to 15% meat as a supplement, it doesn't have all the vitamins and extras they need. But better than nothing.

Can you believe we're worried about feeding enough calories? Wish I had that problem

Re: 30/8 Ann & Maggie AMPS 235

Hi Ann,
Thanks for your reply, That is what I am thinking, too, about the dry causing the spike, as you mentioned Tess is also sensitive. I am looking at Binky's list and making a trip to Petsmart sometime today and will shop for some different FF. She has been eating too much of the fish flavors. The Tender Beef Feast is one I will try and also chicken and beef. There are some other brands on her list with LC. I've been sticking with the FF thinking it's best not to change, but maybe mixing one of the others in with her old would help!

I know if only I needed more calories I'd be having more pizza! :-D

Re: 30/8 Ann & Maggie AMPS 235; +3=124

Much better at BG 124 at +3 hours. Ann & Tess, I think it was the dry that did the spike as you mentioned. Now I can leave feeling a little relieved. Hopefully I'll be baack in time for +6 or +7, as she seems to peak. I wonder are the peak times the same in all our cats?

Re: 30/8 Ann & Maggie AMPS 235; +3=124

Nice +3...and I agree that the dry might have spiked her numbers a bit...
No, to answer your question....not all kitties peak at the same time. My shadow for instance,...his nadir is at +8 !! So, that is why the beginning info on our SSs are so important. When we get a good idea of when we think our own kitty peaks, we can act accordingly.
Good job Ann!!

Thanks Pat. No more dry for Mags girl. Can't wait to hear about Raja and shadow today!

Re: 30/8 Ann & Maggie AMPS 235; +3=124; PMPS=123

At +2.5 after her last shot, Maggie's BG is 134. I'm not sure if I worded it right! She is eating some other flavors FF, all LC from Binky's list, no dry.
