Happy Fursday! May all of LL's prayers help Amy and Melanie as their beautiful babies, Mario and Smokey, crossed the Bridge yesterday. We are so sad for them. And we continue to send out healing vines to Moonie, Noni, Kitten, Minkie, and any others who might need them today.
A little bounce clearing and a little extra juice and Missy G took off last night. I figured she would so I tested early and fed a little more LC food but she obviously was on a mission. She did have a nice cycle and when I finally got her up to 55, I was able to let her surf on her own the rest of the night with no fud. We are having a flat screen TV installed outside today but the satellite tech had to run the cable around the office to where it will exit to the patio. The office is where the kitty "jungle jim" is with several condos of differing heights are.....leading up to the top of the bookcase where Tobey and Gracie love to nap. We had to move all the jungle jim components to the other side of the office so the tech could get to the satellite box and so our two young 'uns are having a great time with everything moved around. And for Gracie, now there are all sorts of new wires/cords for her to chew on    Oh yes....our sweet little brown baby girl has been a cord chewer since she arrived here as a tiny baby in 2006. I thought I had her broken of it but as I was typing this, I glanced over and she had that look in her eyes and a cord between her teeth just about to clamp down on it.   Caught her!!!!
COCONUT OIL CORRECTION: the other day I said that coconut oil can affect insulin absorption. That was based on a very brief conversation with the vet and a misinterpretation on my part of what she said. I spoke with her yesterday and what she told me was that coconut oil itself does not interfere with insulin absorption as far as she knows. What has been shown to happen in humans is that saturated fats (which coconut oil is high in) can cause insulin resistance thus causing the liver to dump more glucose into the blood. Also, high triglyceride levels can affect BG. So, again....if you are using coconut oil, please do not make any decision on whether to use it or not based on Gracie's elevated triglycerides because we don't know for certain that the coconut oil is the culprit and coconut oil does not affect insulin absorption.
We're still waiting for the TV install guys to come and since our computer is adjacent to where they need to work, I won't be able to be on it today. Plus I desperately need a nap after last night's PJ Party. And poor Mike....when he got home and set the house alarm, he didn't realize the bedroom door to the patio was cracked open. When he came in the room, he realized it was and so went to close it and the vibration set the alarm off...in the house and out. I was conked out cold for a brief nap so talk about palpitation city!
Have a great day!
