Zener is fine today. Numbers are not bad at all, if this is his bounce from yesterday's slide from AMPS of 325 to PMPS of 53. Yes, we are completely assimilated by the Borg Queen (thank you, Marje!). We hardly hesitated a nanosecond to shoot last night. :lol: :lol: Appy is good this morning but no yard patrol. Maybe later. It's muddy paddy paw weather (warm after lots of snow) so we are trying to wipe paddy paws after yard patrol. That is not popular in the least. :-x :evil: Tillie is so funny, when she thinks she is going to get her paddy paws wiped, she turns in a little circle before darting in the door. It doesn't do any good though, my inner German rears her ugly head. :lol: Happy Sunday LL!

Maybe you need some kitty doormats so that your kitties can wipe their paddy paws themselves :lol: !! (good luck, but some cats really do wipe their paws; Stu always did).

Too bad your snow has turned muddy. Hope you get some fresh snow soon.

"Downton Abbey" is terrific. You can stream season 1 on Netflix. And you can watch the last episode of season 2 on the PBS app on an iPad.

Oh Mr. Z! Just LOOK at those bootiful numbers today! Oh I LIKE that! Too bad on mushy mud but I'm sure you'd rather MamaBeans wipe them than have to lick off that icky stuff! It tastes turrible!

And he's :mrgreen: again!

We've noticed this past week or so that he is drinking more and peeing more again. Not nearly at the levels when his BG numbers were high, but definitely increased. The puzzle for us is that his numbers are in a really good range lately, so we are wondering if something else could be going on, like kidneys or thyroid? No change in appy like nausea, in fact, his appy has been much better recently and no behavior changes other than he is feeling better, spending more time in his backyard and playing more. We will make an appointment this week with his vetty for bloodwork, it's been several months, and for the past two years, every time we've had these tests done, all has been normal (other than his FD).

Any insights or thoughts are appreciated! :YMHUG:

Morning guys! Nice start to the day! So funny what a similar day we had yesterday! I do not know on the drinking water, I notice from time to time Scrabble drinking water but it is usually when his numbers are high. I am sure someone will come by with some info. Hope all is ok, maybe a uti? Hope you have a great Sunday!!

Scratchie drinks more water when he is in the lower numbers (below 100) as well but not copious amounts. Just more than he does normally because when he's higher he doesn't drink any at all, maybe once a week. Hopefully everything is good.

This may be far fetched but I wonder if Zener gets more dehydrated since you've got the heat on and because the weather's colder? (The humidity is lower in the winter.)

Wow, lovely numbers for Zener! Not sure on the increased drinking and peeing thing, but I think it's a good idea to run BW, just to make sure. If you can check his temp at home (which I normally can't with mine) I would do that. A fever could make him drink more, but I would think that would be reflected in his numbers. Hoping it's nothing!

Rusty, who almost never drinks water most of the year (I put it into his food), does drink a little in winter because the humidity is so low in the house. I would say he drinks a little from his bowl almost every day in winter (as opposed to about once a month when the heat isn't on as often).

Hi and sorry I missed all the excitement last night with the low green and Borg Queen, too! :lol: I'll have to go back and see what all I missed. Great slide again from Z man. We had showers last night, so hope you get a dusting of the snow. Paws crossed all is okay with Zener with his upcoming Vetty appt.

Moonie drinks like a fish with her head in the water bowl for periods of time, but that could be the prednis.
I know a symptom of Hyper T is also excessive drinking, but there can be many other causes--It can be checked by a simple T4 test..Hope it's just the heat turned on, and nothing to worry about--

J.D. was drinking and peeing a lot more than usual and was seeming off now and then, when I finally had the Spec fPL done and he came back possitive for cronic pancreatitis. I would think you would see something was off if Zener had it.

Hopefully all Zener's bloodwork will come back in the normal range.

Our mud after snow is still frozen, but there is salt put out on the sidewalks by hoomans, and I have to give the kitties foot baths. Ginger screams and squirms like I'm about to put her in boiling water :-| .

:mrgreen: :mrgreen: :mrgreen: :mrgreen: Sorry i missed the emergence of a new Borg Queen! :lol: :lol: Zener's numbers have been so great lately, I hope it's just the lower humidity or maybe appetite for everything has increased. Good idea to get it checked out and put your mind at rest though.

Thanks to all for replying to our question about Zener's increased drinking and peeing. His numbers have been so good lately, it's hard to think what might be going on and perhaps it is nothing, other than weather or he's a cat. We have an appointment for Tues noon with our vetty for bloodwork and a wellness check so paws crossed all is normal and we can stop stressing! We keep chanting Zener's advice from his New Year's resolution for us last year - "pet more, worry less". :razz:
