Hi Gobbles
this is our first visit to your condo I have not been too active on here lately so a late welcome to LL from Do Lou and I and hope Gobbles see some pretty blue today :cool:

Gee thanks...BTW, he just had a spike...please look at his SS (I took a +1 reading--which I never do--just for the heck of it) I am assuming maybe his PM shot is wearing off???

BTW, he just had a spike...please look at his SS (I took a +1 reading--which I never do--just for the heck of it) I am assuming maybe his PM shot is wearing off???

If you never checked +1 before, this may be his "norm". It could be a rise due to breakfast and the insulin hasn't kicked in yet. Or it could have just been a wonky test. If you see a number that seems to make little sense, you can take another test right away to see if it seems legit. Too much or too little blood on the strip can sometimes give you a "bad" reading.

it was 440 so i took it immediately again it was 397...therefore, i averaged them...

Good morning! Nice to hear he is being more himself. Spot checks can turn up the most interesting data - highs or lows. This high may be normal as Carl says. See where he goes today I guess!

I agree with what Carl said... some cats do get whopping food spikes at +1. Hopefully, he will see some nicer numbers today.

I am going to do a +6 and as I am thinking that is what ya'll will tell me to do, and I value your experience, advice and candor :) Will update SS in about 40 minutes...

Nice Lantus curve today! :-D :-D :-D Yes, +1 is nearly always up due to food and the last dose wearing off before the next one takes effect. Now you have learned that Gobbles can get a food spike at +1 !
