Good Morning, Everyone,

I got some wonderful kitty kisses and head butts during the night, but this morning Rusty woke us up with his congestive cough. He's OK now. The Allerplex is supposed to loosen up "hardened masses of accumulated mucous" to make it easier to expel. Hopefully that is what is happening. We are on Day 6. Rusty just enjoyed his "lung treat" (he really likes it! :-D ).

Earlier this morning Rusty had a good test (blue!), good shot, a hearty breakfast (first sitting and much of the second sitting eaten), a schmooze, and now a nap in his little bed next to the radiator. We are hoping that his dosecrease will kick in today. If not, he gets a little more fat added to his dose tomorrow.
It's a gloomy, damp, chilly day with a little light snow falling. Everything is icy from the rain yesterday. I may go to the PetsMart in Plattsburgh this afternoon for some freeze-dried chicken treats and a case of FF T&G. It doesn't look like a good day for x-c skiing or snowshoeing, or even walking (but we will do our usual 2-mile walk to the post office, as we do almost every day: gotta keep moving!).

Wishing you all a good day and continuing to keep Georgia and Judy in our thoughts. Also continuing to send lots of healing vines to all kitties and beans in need.

Ella & Rusty

p.s. I talked to Roni yesterday and she is doing OK. Moonie found her ring (it had popped out of her hand and she looked everywhere for it and finally found it, quite a distance away, in the exact center of Moonie's cat bed).

Re: 3/13 Rusty AMPS 187

Hi Ella

I assume the coughing, even tho it sounds awful, is the Allerplex doing it's job....good!

How wonderful to wake to kitty kisses and headbutts cat_pet_icon I get yelling from the bathroom sink

We have the same weather...ice making it difficult to walk in yard. Hope you have a nice walk to PO

Re: 3/13 Rusty AMPS 187

WTG, Rusty! Now.. Just a bit more lower than this one, ok?

I'm glad to hear that he's doing fine, and that his breathing is better. I also worry everytime one of mine coughs, be it feline, or equine.

Thank you for letting us know about Roni. I'm glad that Moonie found her ring for her. I believe she's around Roni in spirit. That's always good.

Re: 3/13 Rusty AMPS 187

Hi guys .. I am so happy to hear that rusty enjoys his little "treats" .. I'm sure it makes it much easier to deal with when you don't have a cat fighting to take his meds .. Be careful on your walk if the roads are slippery .. And what a sweet story about Roni and Moonie .. have a great day guys!

Re: 3/13 Rusty AMPS 187

Come on down Rusty. I know you will seen green soon. Work that juice big guy! Poor guy on his snifflies. Hopefully that mucus is breaking up and getting out of there. Have a great day Ella!

Re: 3/13 Rusty AMPS 187

Hi Ella. Nice blue number for Rusty although he looks much better in green. I hope the coughing spell this morning was a result of the Allerplex loosening up the hardened masses of accumulated mucous.

Enjoy your walk to the Post Office. Have a great day.

Re: 3/13 Rusty AMPS 187

I hope the dosecrease kicks in today and that the Allerplex is doing it's job. How much do you give him? I looked at it for humans and it is a whopping 9 capsules a day!

Re: 3/13 Rusty AMPS 187

Hi Ella, sorry to hear Rusty was congested during the night. Maybe it's the cold weather that affects him? I've noticed that changes in pressure and humidity seem to have some impact on K's breathing. I've just ordered a bottle of Allerplex. How do you make Rusty's lung treats? How many capsules, and what do you add it to?

Hope the dosecrease kicks in and Rusty sees some low blues and maybe even a dip in the lagoon!

Re: 3/13 Rusty AMPS 187, +5.5 167, +9.5 163

Hi again,
Just back from the Plattsburgh Petsmart, where I bought Rusty some freeze dried chicken treats and a case of FF T&G. He and Edward had some quality time: combings and a walk around the perimeter of the house (at the moment, snow-free). Rusty is eager to go outside again--spring must be just around the corner. When I got home we had our hairball treat. So Rusty gets his "lung treat" in the morning and his Naturvet Hairball treat in the afternoon. Lucky guy.

Ann and Courtney: Rusty's dose of Allerplex for now is 1 capsule once a day (when he finishes the 150 capsules in the bottle, the vet wants me to go up to 2 capsules a day). I give it to him at about AMPS + 2. I put it into about a teaspoon of Beechnut Stage 1 babyfood (Turkey and turkey broth). First I put the babyfood in a small dish. Then I open the capsule and mix its contents into the baby food, adding a little warm water to make a slurry. I mix it all together and finger-feed it to him. He loves it and when we finish with the "treat", he licks the dish clean. The powder in the capsules smells like bouillon cube.

bbl,

Ella & Rusty

It sounds like the Allerplex is doing its job. Rusty just needs to get back to the lagoon. Good luck if you need to fatten his dose.

Yay, coming down at PMPS. Maybe the dose is finally kicking in. Fingers and paws crossed.

Off to visit condos,

Nice trend in those BGs. Rusty is generally so flat! :-D :-D Paws crossed that the allerplex is doing its thing. That was sweet of Moonie to find Roni's ring. :-D Your weather sounds icky! I hope it changes to something decent for getting outside, either nice snow or sunny.
