Good morning,
Happy 4th of July, and Happy Birthday to my Zeusman, who is an Independence Day Baby (at least that is what the shelter told me ;-) )
We had a couple of weird things happen last night. First, Zeus kind of underestimated the height of the spare bed, so when he went to jump up he made it to the box spring and I heard the claws grasp the mattress and he was up on the bed. I didn't worry too much about it. But then later he had trouble jumping up on the couch which is much lower than the bed. Only his front half went up, so his front paws/claws were on the cushion and he was standing on the floor. It took him a couple of seconds to figure out what happened, and then he climbed up on the couch and almost stumbled to the arm of the couch. Momma is worried again. I kept watching him when he would walk, he wasn't walking on his hocks, he wasn't limping, but he was walking ...I don't know, Cautiously maybe?
Then it was time for fluids. It did not go well. He did not want to sit still, he did not like me poking him, he turned his head a couple of times like he wanted to bite me, and he cried a couple of times. I don't know if I got even half in before I let him get up. I let him do his thing for a while and tried again later. Same thing happened. I had been so happy that he was eating at dinner time, then the jumping thing brought me down, and then this.... Tears, many tears. I picked him up to hug him and he put his head on my shoulder, I think he was sad too. Poor baby.
Zeus' good appy continued through the evening and it appears overnight as well, that's the good news. I hadn't meant to give him too much of the HC stuff, but he was hungry. His BG spiked from 137 to 301 before bed. He is still pink this morning. And he had pudding like poo overnight, twice. I guess I'm not surprised with how much he ate, and the different foods that I have been feeding him. This morning he had most of a can of the FF morning medley, and went into the spare bedroom to hang out. I think I am going BTB for a while.
