    Good morning

I am talking to member that at the moment has some financial difficulties and wants to know what is most economical way to buy insulin syringes in US northeast. I buy them in Walmart about $13 for 100. Is there a way to find it for less.

Wal-Mart is probably the least expensive unless she wants to look at ADWdiabetes.com, but she'll have to pay shipping there.

It's been quite a while since I bought syringes, but I did just do a quick peek at ADW - the Walmart price you quoted is $3 cheaper than the Monojects I used to use, plus as Carla mentioned there are shipping fees unless you spend something like $75. Walmart might be her best bet.

    Thank you Amy and Carla

Walmart is for me most economical and most convenient. I just wanted to check with you guys because members here are so resourceful. I just want to help fellow FD.

Do you know what size syringes they use?

Paula had two boxes of syringes for Michael that her friends sent home with me and to be honest, he would flinch the first few days I had him when I used them so I decided to try my syringes that I use for my Mousie and he tolerated them better so I doubt I'll use the ones that came with Michael. Plus, he's not getting insulin right now anyway :)

I use the short 5/16" length needles and she had the longer I think 1/2" ones. I'd have to look when I get home but I know they are Monoject brand, not sure on the gauge of the needle though. If they can use them I'd be happy to send them in Paula's memory, helping another kitty.

Wal-Mart in probably more economical, however I found them (1/2u marked ones) harder to read and the markings non consistent from syringe to syringe.

We are now using Walmart (I do not like Walmart and only am patronizing them for this item because I seem to have no choice until this scrip expires) but I agree that the quality is not as good as the ones we used to get from Total Diabetes Supply. I am going to try to switch to ADW.

BUT, I have two boxes of Sure Comfort U-100 short needle (5/16) 31Guage 3/10cc WITHOUT half unit markings that I will send to anyone who wants them for the shipping cost only. Just let me know if that would be useful.

Do you like the sure comfort otherwise?

We did and are thinking of doing those or monoject next time. We used SureComfort exclusively for Basil and had no problem but that WAS 6 years ago. But the Relion zero points seem really wonky. Some also have "squashed" markings where the letters and lines are thicker than they are on others. And we are wonky enough as a family without that! LOL!

I use monoject now. The only thing is that the barrel is dome shaped. So it was a little confusing at first.
