OTJ is off the juice, no insulin. SS is spread sheet. :)

Hi and welcome. It will help a lot if you can fill in some of the missing data since lantus is dosed on the nadir, the lowest point in the cycle. That is usually between 4-7 hours after injecting but can move around a lot. A test at 2 hours will let you know if the cycle will likely be active. If that test is lower than the preshot a busy cycle is usual. That will help you if you need to leave for work as you can leave the right food out to keep her safe. Many cats go lower at night so a before bed check is a good idea. The next day you are home it would be a good idea to do a curve. I suspect she might be going low given that 87 at +2 on 8/2 and might have earned a dose reduction that night. Smart move not shooting. It said AT so are you also testing with a pet meter?

Since you're getting replies on this thread and not the other one, let's just continue here. It will help if you'll go ahead and "Edit" the subject line here....Have it say:

8/04 Cinnamon AMPS 231 (OTJ? Sunglasses?)

Also, here's your PRIOR link to your thread earlier so people can go back and get some details on what's going on so far

We only want to start one new thread per day, so if you have a question, you can either add it to your subject line (like above) or just use the ? prefix available in the Title line when you first write it. We have so many cats here that having more than one thread per day per cat makes it harder to keep track of

You've gotten your answers on the OTJ and Sunglass question so far, here's some of the other ones!

Nadir is what the lowest point in the cycle is....so if Cinny was at 237 at AMPS, and (for example) you got a test 3 and 7 hours later (let's just pretend here that +3 was 186 and +7 was 92), the 92 would be the nadir for this cycle since it's the lowest number.

A cycle is the 12 hours between shots. There are two cycles per day...an AM cycle and a PM cycle

The +2 is a really useful test for most cats on Lantus....If the +2 is lower than the Pre-shot, that's your "early warning" that it might be a very active cycle and she'll need more tests later on in that cycle.

A "normal" Lantus cycle generally starts high, then slowly drops to "nadir" (the lowest point, usually around +4 to +7) and then gradually rises again until the next shot time.
(but don't expect to see "normal" cycles for awhile! You're still very new to the sugardance and it will take time to develop ANY kind of pattern!!)

Just tested at +3 (that means 3 hrs after amps, correct?)
    Her number is 250
    That's too high :(

Yes +3 is 3 hours after insulin. Enter it on your ss in the third box after your preshot. Let's see what happens the rest of the day. This is a marathon and not a race we like to say. The cats each have their own agenda. Think of it as a puzzle yet to be figured out. It just takes time.
