    Shhhh... #antijinx

We just wanted to give you an update. Just tested at 85. Neuropathy is much improved. He's jumping on tables and knocking things off/breaking things/eating plastic/attacking my legs when I least expect it aka back to normal.

Now when I talk to him it's more like, "YOSHIIIIIIIIII!!!!!" as opposed to "Oh my poor baby Yosh..."

    Thank you again,

    Xoxo

    Jen and Yosh

So good to hear that Maury's neuropathy is improving! I think one of the hardest parts of this is seeing them hobble and slide around.

That's great! That's fantastic that he's doing so much better!!!
I'm also glad to hear in not the only one with a plastic eater. Packaging or duct tape, bubble envelopes, bubble wrap, those big vaccuum sealed storage bags that you can put clothes in, plastic bags, and most recently a pair of crock sandals...teeth marks on all of it.

    Hi Ladies!

Thank you for all of your good vibes!

    Couple of questions...still...

I can't remember who else uses the alpha track, but I've noticed that it starts beeping around 130am. Is there some sort of alarm on it? How do I turn it off?

Also, Mr. Wonderful has been scooting a bit. I saw him do it about 3 times in the past month. I feel like I should take him in to have his anal glands looked at, but I'm scared his BG will go up because of stress and we will be back in Prozinc land. Thoughts? Is there a way too look at their starfish to see if it is impacted?

    Thanks as always

@JanetNJ do you have any idea about the alpha track?

AT2 does have an alarm setting. These are online instructions I found for FreeStyle Lite but I'm pretty sure they're same for AlphaTrak 2. https://www.manualslib.com/manual/827479/Abbott-Freestyle-Lite.html?page=22
LOL! Starfish... I love it! [IMG][IMG][IMG]

I don't think stress from a Vet visit can push him out of remission but starfish issues could, so might want to go ahead and take him in. :bighug: Let's see what the others say ;)

I have an AT meter but I can't say that I've heard it beep. It's in another room so I wouldn't hear it overnight though. Haven't heard it in the daytime. As for the starfish (!) best not to let it get out of hand.

I looked it up after Tigress had an issue...let's just say that I then realized that I did NOT want to try to handle it at home. Trust me here...I'd go to a vet...if nothing else so he'll associate that with the vet and not you.

    Starfish!!! lmao
I'm so happy for you both.
My dog has anal gland issues every now and then. She can express them very easily for some reason and picks the most inappropriate times... I mean there's only one appropriate time and that's when going potty but she likes to welcome guests and rubs her butt on the floor. She does this so much that she actually knows what I mean when I ask "Does mommy need to wipe your butt?" and she'll go wait for me in the bathroom. Babywipes are bought in bulk here. SMH. The things we do for our pets. My vet offered to teach me how to do it at home... uhm no thanks! I can't imagine trying that with a cat!

Great news about Yoshi, both numbers and neuropathy! And I agree, I'd have a vet do anything anal-gland related

Mr. Yosh is back in the blue at 102. Tested him because I'm taking him to anal gland tomorrow and I wanted a non stressed BG reading. He's been hungry and screaming lately, but not drinking water to the degree he was. I hope it's not coming back. His brother hit his bum and he hissed so maybe he is impacted.

    Anyway, good vibes please!

He's hit 102 four different times. It seems to be a number he likes. I wouldn't worry about it too much. Although of course keep monitoring as you have been. Except tomorrow. You probably don't want to know what his number is after the vet does what the vet is going to do. ;) o_O

Poor Yoshi! I wish our kitties didn't get so scared at the vet! But glad to hear that he just needs a good poop!

She actually made a good suggestion and said to give him some gabopentin before the vet. She said it's equivalent to two martinis. She prescribed cisapride for a couple days. There's no way I'm testing him today. Going to wait a couple days.

Maybe I should take some gabopentin before the vet, too...

Several people on here have had success with a product called "Natural Moves" - available online I think. @Beth 73 was the person who mentioned it originally. She gives it to her kitty, Elmo.

Thank you! Just curious do you guys brush your cat's teeth? They said he has some gingivitis and he might need a cleaning soon and I'm trying to avoid that

Um, I prefer that Frank NOT kill me in my sleep, so no. Lol. I don't brush his teeth, although I have a toothbrush and toothpaste for him.
