    Hi All:

We're on Day 26 OTJ and our kitty's BG numbers have ranged from the 70s to the low 100s with a median AM BG of 95 and a median PM BG of 87 (with low numbers down to 68).

Today, we had a 147 in the AM, which is 17 points higher than the only other high number of 130 which we got 23 days ago. We haven't made any diet changes (Dr. Elsey's cleanprotein & CORE Pâté), and his behavior seems fine.

So, I'm a little worried. I don't know what his PM BG will be, but when do you all start worrying about high numbers, and is there such a thing as a maintenance or booster dose of insulin? :cat:

@Catacular ... I have tried to find a good reference sticky for you to read associated to this. My cat has gone OTJ a couple times & if the bg goes above 150 several times, especially consecutively... then I would start on a very low dose (1.5) to help support the pancreas. If it’s just an occasional one time jump, then I wouldn’t worry about it too much. I would suggest you look at others ss that have gone OTJ & posting in the main health forum to get more responses. Congrats on going OTJ!!

Ditto Becky & Baby girl. When Mabel was off juice for a year we saw an occasional higher number. I'd have to look back but there were a few times I did give her a small dose of insulin if her numbers were higher for more than 2 days. But the numbers you are showing don't seem very high to me and I think you're right to let him self-correct if you just get an occasional reading under, say, 180. I don't know a lot, but Mabel has been diabetic for 2 years, 1 year in remission (heaven), but back on juice now for 6 mos. Best to you.

Thanks! Today we're back to the 80s. I appreciate your input!!! Even if we have to go back on the juice, we're happy he's not suffering anymore! :cat: Good luck with your Mabel!!
