Wednesday At least she didn't quite make it to the lemon tree this morning. I'd sure love for her to leave those lemons behind so we could have a nice field of blues and greens on that SS...ah well...something to dream about. After a chilly star there is another lovely Autumn day ahead...and then the forecast looks rather unpleasant. I hope you will all enjoy this day beans and kitties - make the very best of it! Here's a pic of our visitors from my kitchen window! I swear I think they're coming closer and closer - I suspect they'll soon be sitting in the living room waiting for refreshments to be served
What a great run of greens yesterday! Yuen around Luci! Cool pic! Can’t believe it comes so close to your house! BTW , what would you serve a Heron should it arrive fir cocktail hour? Lol
Well, those Sand Hill Cranes are very fond of feed corn, bugs and larvae...not sure about beverages..probably some swamp water cocktails...
Oh it’s a crane! Thought it was a Heron. Wonder if he’s eating up bird seeds. Is that a bird feeder above him that got knocked over?
Great picture! That's so funny, I can picture them sitting on your sofa with their legs crossed, looking all haughty! Let's have a replay of yesterday minus the lemons Luci! Have a great day Sue!
LOL! That IS a bird feeder with my homemade 'baffle' on top of it. The squirrels were climbing down from the roof and eating all the sunflower seeds! So I cut a hole in the bottom of a pie-tin and put it on top of the feeder...stopped those squirrels from eating all the seeds. They were very rude about it..they'd rip the top off and dump all the seeds out...depriving the birds of even a single seed...they have plenty of acorns and such out in the yard. And yes, they cranes are eating the seeds that fall on the ground...and everything else they can find...they're actually aerating our lawn with their beaks...digging and rooting around We think they're so beautiful...we don't mind a bit!
I often think the same of the deer! They come right up to the house - to eat the roses and flowers! Someday the whole bunch of them will be sitting here waiting for service!
Hope Luci has forgotten about those lemons and continues to the beach and her frequent visits at the lagoon. It's like the Brady Bunch in your yard but I think the Wild Bunch is a better name. Nature is beautiful. Hope you have a good day Sue and safe surfing for Luci
Hahaha, they're waiting patiently for you to head to Florida! I'd leave a nannycam in the living room!
Luci is aiming to please, Sue. Enjoy your wildlife for me too. There are longhorns, cows and donkeys, coyotes and raccoons by me. Not much like what you get The donkeys come when called, then my dog tries to scare them off. They don't scare. It's funny. I really love deer. Have a beautiful day and thanks for the pictures
Wow what a pic! Your yard looks really beautiful Sue! I’d join those cranes for a refreshment... if you’re offering Pretty good start for Luci! Let’s see what she does today
You're soo funny this morning; you made me start my day laughing and I'm still is..!! Your posts are very refreshing ! Luci worked so hard yesterday, she's taking a little break today!
I love the pics of the sandhill cranes. LT says the lemon tree is no place to be, though he doesn't seem to mind being there this a.m. after his foray last night.
Your yard still looks so pretty? I've been cutting things down & cleaning up already. Supposed to get really cold in a few days! Don't those cranes leave for the winter?
Gotta get a pic of that! I'll bet they're cute! Sounds like you have a regular ménagerie of critters around you
We're moving things and cutting too...it's just that we move slower than everyone else...DH will be working on it ... right now he's out running his Corvette out of gas so he can put in new for winter...if that makes any sense at all ... at least it's a gorgeous day for it!
Nice start for Luci today. A photographer friend of mine found some sandhill cranes not too far away from here....about a 45 minute drive. I'm going to try to get there soon!
I don't have those visitors, but I like the ones we do get. The turkeys scratch up our yard and aerate it also.
