My kitty became diabetic two weeks ago when put on budesonide for IBD. The diabetes has responded very quickly to insulin. However she is losing massive amounts of weight. First we thought it was from IBD, then from diabetes. Both of these are being treated but the weight loss continues. I read about EPI symptoms which seem to fit. Has anyone here gone on to develop EPI? If so how are you managing? Thank you. I'm scared.

We've had a couple of cats that were diagnosed with EPE (exocrine pancreatic insufficiency). They were treated with digestive enzymes. I found this explanation of EPI and it's treatment helpful.

It’s important to get tested for EPI. The Texas AMU GI panel includes a test for it, and a couple other tests that might help with figuring what is wrong with digestion.
