Please chime on how you and your kitties are doing. Let us know how you and your significant others and families are doing too.

I know some of you are super busy at work with double shifts, and others are out of work with this pandemic.

    How are you coping?

We at the Billy household are doing fine. We've stocked up on some emergency Fancy Feast, in case distribution gets further disrupted. My Mom is 81, I work from home, and Brian works in an Amazon warehouse, so our money situation hasn't changed a bit. Amazon is being awesome to it's workers. $2 an hour pay raise for the duration and all overtime is paid double. So Brian will actually be doing better than normal, which is a blessing. I used to work in theatre as a costumer, and all the theatres are closed now. So many people I know suddenly don't have a job. While I'm glad we are doing social distancing to protect our citizens most at risk, I have a great deal of anxiety about the lasting effects on our economy.

Billy is doing awesome. Still in remission. Still active, happy, and full of purrs. And still fat. We've reduced his food, but that just seems to make him less active. Now, we're encouraging more play time more often than we were. Seems like no matter what I do, he stays exactly the same weight!

thank you brian!!! we are depending a lot on amazon right now.

so far we are ok here, but living in the nation's current epicenter certainly has its anxiety provoking moments.

kit enjoyed watching the birds and the snow during the day.
this evening she engaged joji in a rousing pre-dinner round of run-thru-the-tunnel-to-fetch-the-ball with jw serving as game commentator.

Other than Daniel peeing on my shoes and what used to be the Law&Order repeat channel becoming the Hallmark channel (Hey it's Christmas, look at all those white people!) things are fine. If my meds aren't in stock on Friday I won't be posting for a bit.
Tomorrow at midnight all non essential businesses are shut down but the list is not finalized yet. I'm the designated isolation breaker so tomorrow morning it's gas, fish food, cat food and frozen meals. Strangely enough government liquor stores will remain open.

Doing ok here. Work has picked up husband has gone to a 60 hour week at work and I have gone to a 48 hour work week. Thank god we work different shifts or the 2 dogs and 2 cats would probably feel abandoned. Been a busy day with Teal'c doing the no mom I don't want to be regulated and Gizzie and her pooping issue. Only got 3 hours of sleep.

Forced the vet to take Giz and try to find out what is wrong with her. Told them I would tie her to their door and get back in my car if that's what it takes. They told me to bring her in and someone would come to my car and take her in. They kept her all day but still know nothing.

We had 2 people test positive here so people's attitudes have changed. I even got mad at work when I found out a guy at work came back from a cruise to cozimel Mexico last week and then came back to work not being tested or anything. They walked him out after they found out he had been traveling. I just wonder why he would do that too all of us in the plant what if he turns up having it. So angry.

Feeling a bit depressed today, Tuesday 3/24/20. I was writing out formalized care instructions for my civie cat Dancer. Just in case I get sick and can't take care of her. Something in a typed up document and easier to read than my hand written scribbles.

When I got to the vet authorization part, for someone else to make that euthanization decision, that is when I lost it and broke down into tears.

Crying jag over, it's back to normal life, and I'm going outside today to play in my gardens and get my hands dirty and yucky. :) And listen to the birds welcoming spring and enjoy a sunny day.

To paraphrase the last paragraph of a poem by A.E. Housman "Loveliest of Trees, the Cherry Now"
"And since to look at things in bloom,
    Ten springs are little room,
Above the woodlands I will go,
To see the cherry hung with snow."

    Hi Deb,

Just to say I'm so sorry you're feeling rough and really hope that you start feeling better soon.

This is all just so unbelieveable!

Lovely week. Lots of rain for the gardens and plenty of bulbs are blooming.
But that means my allergies are kicking up.

The sun was out yesterday, cloudy today, enjoying looking out over the marsh and watching the gulls skim over the water at high tide in the marsh across the road.
