Sorry for the long post just not sure what to do. My guy opi was diagnosed in late jan. Since then we have seen 3 vets. His numbers started off in the 700s at the vet so they put him on 3 units 2x a day and after two weeks we upped it to 5 units 2x day. He went in for a curve 2 weeks later and then upped his dose to 7units 2x a days. Even with a complete food change to wet they insisted that I still give home 7 units. At this point they didn’t want me testing at home he wound up going into a bad hypo. So we then met our 3rd vet when we rushed him in. He was on board with the at home testing so we started more often and dropped him back down to 3 units. Depending on his numbers he gets 1 or 2 units I’m just so worried I don’t want to go through a hypo again. He had had a few days under 200 so I don’t shoot but some days he’s a little over like today he was 216 this morning so do I give him any insulin or still a no. We are now eating dr elseys he was always a kibble junkie switching to wet food was very difficult for him and since his hypo he won’t touch and if he does it’s only a tiny bit. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Its me again...not stalking you :p I didn't know about the no eating part in your other post. He was on wet, stopped eating wet so he is back on dry food?

Yes it took us a long time to switch him to wet food and after his hypo he refused to eat it so we switched to the dr elseys bc he only wants the wet food that had gravy. I tried mixing the pate w water and broth sprinkling nip on it and his dry food which he just picked out of it and knocked the wet food off his plate.

I have not. I will read up on it. Since his hypo the only kind he wanted was the stuff with gravy and we all know that’s not good. He also has problems when we used to feed him soft treats he could never eat them he would try but they would just crumble and he would just leave them.
